JISConvert is a conversion utility  to  translate  Japanese  language  text
between  different  formats.   The   purpose  of  this  documentation is to
explain how to install and operate JISConvert  to  it's  fullest potential.
This documentation is written under the  assumption  that  the  reader  has
read and  understands  the  "User's  Guide"  that  came  with  their  Amiga
computer.

JISConvert requires no installation.  JISConvert  may  be  moved  to  other
disk volumes or directories by dragging it's  icon  to  the  new  location.
See  the  Amiga  Users  Guide that was included with the computer for  more
information.

The "Input File"  gadget  is  used  to  select  the  file  that  is  to  be
converted.

The "Output File" gadget is used to select the file to be created with  the
converted output.  The output file can not be the same file  as  the  input
file.

This is the format the input  file  will  be  converted  to.   The  various
formats supported are EUC, New JIS, Old JIS, Nec JIS and Shift JIS.

There are two conversion options:

     Convert half size katakana to full size - This converts half width
     Katakana characters to their full width equivalents.

     Repair files with ESC chars stripped -  This  option  attempts  to
     put  the  missing  ESC  characters  back  into  a  damaged   file.
     However, this option can cause mangled output if it is used  on  a
     file that does not have the ESC codes stripped off.

JISConvert will run on all Amiga models that have  at  minimum  of  60K  of
free memory.  JISConvert requires AmigaDos 2.04 or newer to operate.
