c09After  a  short  intermission in which
some legendary demos were shown to the
audience,  the  next Award is going to
be handed out.

c08Damion appears onstage.

c10f4 "With  an  impressive selection range
for  the next award, which will be the
Best  Intro  in 1997, it still seems a
miracle  to  us how we managed to find
possible  nominees.   There might have
been  some  other  also very brilliant
intros,  which  aswell  deserved to be
awarded,  yet a choice had to be made.
We  had  some  long discussions but we
came to a result which - at least this
is what we feel - should be acceptable
to everyone."

c09 "Efreet!" A voice from the crowd cuts
through the air.

c10 "Errr,  yes  that could have been one
of  those  possible  nominees." c09f1Damion
admitts. f4c10 "Ok, who was that?"

f1c09Curt  Cool  of  Depth  raises from his
seat   under   the   laughter  of  his
groupmates. f4c08 "Here, me!"

c10 "You    have    disturbed   me.    As
pedagogical act you will stand for the
rest of the show from now on.  Anyway.
Here  the  hosts  of the Award for the
Best  Intro  in  1997:   Uyanik!  from
TRSI and PG of Limited Edition."

c09f1The head of TRSI&Fairlight Recordz and
the  prominent  coder  of  demos  like
'Ritual' enter the stage.

Uyanik!   gives  quite  an  impressive
sight  with  a  black  smoking  with a
TRSI&Fairlight   Rec.    logo  printed
small  on  chest  and  bigger  on  the
backside.   Almost routinised and with
a slightely ironic smile he peers into
the lights.

f4c08 "Thank  you for the applause."f1c09 With a
nondeniable  Viennian  accent he start
to talk.
f4c08 "It surely is an honour to be host at
such  a  gala  with  such a marvellous
audience.  Don't you think so, PG?"

c09f1The   adressed  rather  preferred  the
casual  look  so  they  give  quite  a
contrast  as  they stand there side to
side.

c07f4 "Sure I do.  But actually this is the
first  time  that  I  saw the Scene so
disciplinated.   If  there weren't the
small  clouds of strangesmelling smoke
from the left I wouldn't believe those
are the Sceners I know."

c08 "Yep, right. Do you know what?"

c07 "I  know  something yes.  But what do
you mean?"

c08 "There   have  a  lot  of  people  be
honoured so far, but I think some real
important people have been left out."

c07 "Who do you think of?"

c08 "I think about the people who enabled
this evening."

c07 "You  mean  the  guys  who  built the
hall?"

c08 "Not exactly."

c07 "Then   you   mean   the   guys  from
Generation."

c08 "Right.    What   about  raising  our
glasses on them, mates?"

f1c09By this he takes a bottle of sparkling
wine  -  as  does PG.  They both shake
the flasks and open them directed into
the crowd, which answers with terified
outcries.   The  rest  they  spill  on
eachothers and into their mouthes.

As  PG  slips  out  in  a  puddle  and
crashes  on  his  back, Uyanik!  takes
the   microphone  still  laughing  and
breathlessly shouts into microphone:

c08 "Don't  try  this  at  home, we ain't
professionals..."

c09PG  back  on  his legs, laughing about
himself,   takes  the  microphone  and
states in serious CNN-reporter tone:

c09Uyanik!   already  opened the envelope
and  so the answer follows without any
pretenciousnesses:

c08 "The winner is, congratulations to my
man   Antibyte:   'Superautodrome'  by
Scoopex!!!"


c09f1The  videoscreens scan the 24 year old
austrian  coder  Antibyte, who is just
staying  totally  calm  with his usual
emotionless face expression.

Being  the  real  punk  that he is, he
wears  his  casual clothes, id est the
same   black  shirt  and  trousers  as
always.

c10f4 "At  least  I've brushed my teeth and
polished  my  piercings especially for
the occasion." c09He comments lateron.

f1Despite  the  stories  about a warfare
between  him and Uyanik!, there can be
no  doubt  that  two  old friends meet
back  on  stage  as  they shake hands,
Uyanik!     clapping   his   shoulder.
Forget   what   you   read   in  other
diskmags,  they  always made a fun out
of  fighting eachpothers verbally, but
in  fact  that's a game of its special
kind.

c08After   PG  gave  the  Award  to  him,
Antibyte  takes the word and starts by
a  long  fierce  look into the mass of
Sceners in front of him.  Well, not as
fierce   as  he  probably  wanted  to,
because  seeing his groupmates singing
and  cheering  his  name, he couldn''t
hold back a smile.

c10f4 "Well,  now  it  is on me to say some
thanks   to   my   group   mates   and
affiliates and some further stuff that
nobody cares about anyways.

So. Thank you, mates! And blablabla."

c09By  this  he  drops the microphone and
leaves   the   stage  without  further
upheaval under roaring applause.
