(182) "Pusherman" by Tulou f1c02 2. (174) "Automatic" by Nature f1c03 3. (167) "Mute" by Mystic f1c04 4. (123) "Terminal" by The Experience c03With 'Pusherman' (cp. review in this issue) and 'Automatic', at least two demos worth a look more than once have been launched at this competition. While the first ranked gives a much more designed through appearance, the short after following Nature demo surely is the technically more advanced piece of code. f2c01 PC Demo f1c01 1. (227) "Destination Goatland" Noice f1c02 2. (166) "Hyper" by Byterapers f1c03 3. (60) "Oblivion" by Outbreak f1c04 4. (53) "PZ" by Replay 5. (41) "Nivsratjeks" by Odo & Biot 6. (37) "Nova" by Renegade Reunion 7. (36) "Outher Limits" by Gaspode 8. (23) "Demo" by Evilmaster 9. (23) "Remedy" by Acid Zmurf f2c01 Dentro f1c01 1. (167) "242DL75" by Rage (Amiga) f1c02 2. (148) "Cellblock S" by Extreme f1c03 Command & Syntax Error (pc) f1c04 3. (74) "Skenery 98 Invitation" by Jakkar (Amiga) 4. (51) "Supernaut" by Replay (pc) 5. (51) "The Inmate" by Calamity(pc) 6. (43) "Fantastic Four go Shopping" by Limbo (Amiga) 7. (29) "Firstro" by EiMotion (pc) f2c01 Amiga Intro f1c01 1. (206) "4-2-5 Dimethoxyphenethyl- f1c02 aminebromo" by DCS f1c03 2. (191) "Afwan" by Tulou f1c04 3. (92) "Dustflow" by Fiction 4. (91) "5555" by Da Jormas c02Despite Afwan is quite not a bad release, it has absolutely no chance against the intro by DCS, despite the rather close votings. The later surely results from the facts that the releases by Fiction and Da Jormas play on a completely different league. In fact the winning demo doesn't only take away the first price, but also the breath of the viewer as DCS managed to combine multi-effect layering with astounding graphical impact and a dense soundtrack. Surely influenced by CNCD's Killer, this production shows what we should be able to demand from modern intros. f2c01 PC Intro f1c01 1. (136) "Svedupellet" by Woorlic f1c02 2. (97) "CP-Water" by Magic f1c03 3. (89) "STD" by Artificial Interupt f1c04 4. (58) "A Mushroom Experience" by Solution 5. (42) "Da Revenge of da Flying Pigz" by Grisfisk 6. (41) "Alison" by Evilmaster f2c01 Graphics f1c01 1. (146) "Greta" f1c02 2. (72) "Rendez-vous" f1c03 3. (58) "Da Transformator" f1c04 4. (53) "fux_24bit" 5. (53) "The Temptress" 6. (42) "Acd" 7. (32) "Ansikte" 8. (31) "Stephen the Driver" 9. (27) "Arne" 10. (25) "Remedy" 11. (25) "Sexappeal" 12. (24) "Anglalika Pattar" 13. (22) "Not in Coma" 14. (21) "Knark ar bajs" 15. (17) "ComputerMenchen" 16. (13) "Majonas" 17. (7) "Sandra Bullok" c02The pixelled graphics competition was a mere disappointment and even the far off winning picture would have no reasonable chance in a huge competition on bigger events. f2c01 RayTracing f1c01 1. (132) "Tiny3D" f1c02 2. (74) "Romance" f1c03 3. (60) "Flower Power" f1c04 4. (45) "Sub" 5. (44) "Lost Temple of Andhala" 6. (42) "Bcc 1024" 7. (42) "The End" 8. (41) "Resurrection" 9. (36) "This is unreal" 10. (33) "Lost at Sea" 11. (29) "Avalon" 12. (21) "Bob up High" 13. (18) "No Smoke" c02Much like the beforementioned competition, the Raytracing challenge gives (apart from Tiny3D) a desolate impression. Already the second placed "Romance" is built upon standard objects (glasses) only that here at least the composition is of some idea. f2c01 4-Channel Music f1c01 1. (146) "Back to the Chipland" f1c02 2. (101) "Cycledoor Rave" f1c03 3. (101) "Scratch My Ass" f1c04 4. (78) "Back to the 70's" 5. (59) "Photogenic Paper" 6. (57) "Rock It" 7.
