^^ ARSE QUESTIONNAIRE Answered by:- Converse / AREA 51 What is your name? Bob Monkhouse..... Nah, it's Harry Enfield really! How old are you? 20, but I was 19 last year :-) What hobbies do you have? Listening to music, winding people up, driving fast and drinking booze. (Obviously not both simultaneously!) What role do you play within AREA 51? (i.e. artist, swapper. etc.) I'm the Sheriff of Nottingham! OKAY! OKAY! I'm not really. Co-editor, musician and writer... How much time each week do you spend on your specialist subject? For music I spend 40 hours + per week in front of a tracker (Sad I know!). If I'm doing articles, I spend about 1 or 2 hours per week on 'em. Do you enjoy doing what you do for the mag? I love doing the funny articles and writing the mods. Do you think Steve from V12 is a thief? Yes. Why's that then? Coz he stole my hamsters virginity! What is your Amiga set up? I really can't be arsed! What is your bank P.I.N number? 2727. Honestly. What is your favourite regular article within BTF? Erm, The Editors bits at the start. What is your favourite pic ever to appear in the mag? That loading pic from issue 4 or was it issue 3... Can't remember! Do you think the V12 sponsorship should go ahead with Area 51? No, no disrespect to V12, but I don't think mags should be sponsored by anybody... They should remain freeee... In your HUMBLE opinion who does the least for the mag? Bit of a dodgy one this one, it's either zYLAX or MSC... Hmmm... Naah, MSC! In your REALLY HUMBLE opinion who does the most for the mag? Definately zYLAX! It is a well known fact that there's a queer in the group, who is it? Wouldn't be Molgrat by any chance would it? What do you think of Area 51 as a whole? It's an excellent group, but I feel there's a problem in the communication department. I really do think the group would benefit from everyone having modems coz when I speak to people or write to people they haven't a clue about the latest group developments or group news. Sometimes people wait months to be told about stuff... It's a bit silly really. Obviously, it'll take some people a while to save up for a modem and some just won't be able to afford one, it's just a problem which will be with us for a long time. Maybe we should have some sort of group newsletter which could be sent out to everyone in the group fortnightly or something, just to let everyone know who's done what, who's releasing what. etc. What rating would you give each issue of BTF? Issue 3? : 87% Issue 4? : 81% Issue 5? : 88% Who do you fancy most out of the following: Molgrat- Molgrat- Erm, Molgrat- MSC's sister- Des O'Conner- Jimmi Saville- I'm not even going to answer that! Okay, as before, name one person you think is gorgeous. Liv Tyler.... She's a MEGA BABE! What do you think of the current state of the Amiga market? It's now well on it's way to dying. The games market is pretty much dead, there is only Effigy, Vulcan and one or two other little 'uns left supporting the Amiga. I can honestly say, I haven't seen an Amiga game worth buying since Flight of the Amazon Queen. As for the hardware side of things, there's still enough to keep users happy..... I said "happy" not ecstatic! Do you think the Amiga will ever become a strong respected format again? Definately not. The Amiga is now a "joke" to the vast majority of computer users other than Amiga owners. I really don't think people should complain though, because if you think about it, the Amiga has been the "in" computer for 11 years now and for a computer, that's a hell of a long time. Most other platforms only remain strong for around 3 years. I'm positive the Amiga won't die for many years yet. Probably around 10 years time because it's just gonna end up a scene users machine with PC bolt on's. Just like the C64 is now with it's demo scene and high specs due to Amiga dongles being shoved in. What about VIScorp, Quikpak, phase 5, PIOS. etc. Do you think any of these will help the Amiga? I think VIScorp are a waste of time, PIOS doesn't sound very promising either. I think they're just full of shit. Quikpak I think will keep churning out A4000's. Maybe at a lower price pretty soon.... and that leaves phase 5. Yes, good ol' phase 5! I think these guys are the ones to put the money on. They're out to prove a point and I think with the entire Amiga community behind them and a bit of clever/fancy advertising they're onto a winner. I'd love to know why the mags and readers aren't supporting phase 5 more as they're the only ones who are gonna develop anything worth using.
