<> *4@5 IMPROVEMENTS TO BEYOND THE FRONTIER A REPLY TO JACKA *3]5@6 by SKiDZ / A51 *1]1 @1 Thanx for the comments on DMC Jacka (Issue 5/BTF). You probably know by now that some of the features you asked for have been implemented into the code before your article was released, but some have yet to be added such as: @3 -:Click on side of screen:- -:to turn pages:-@1 Well, I dunno if it's really required, why not use the keyboard? That's the easiest way to move through the pages I find. I'll think about it though for any future updates or maybe even for BTF only :) @4[This feature has, in fact, been added since this article was written. zYLAX!] @3 -:Save articles/pictures to disk:-@1 Why? You can easily rip them from disk. Plus the fact a routine to save them to another disk would be HUGE! I would have to add in all sorts of error trapping such as making sure there was enough room on the disk, the disk is formatted, errors during saving, path names correct, write enabled? etc. So BTF would become a very large bit of code indeed! If you really wanna get a copy of a pic or article, then simply take it from disk (but ask zYLAX first please coz ya shouldn't really rip files from BTF in da first place! :)). @3 -:Animations on startup:-@1 This has already been done, but zYLAX never uses it!!! He also never used the new BackPic which is shown behind scrolly articles!!! C'mon zYLAX, use the features of BTF - I did them 4 U m8. @4[I either run outta disk space or time. Don't worry I'll get it sorted sometime. zYLAX!] @3 -:Scrolly message:-@1 A doddle, but I firkin' hate them! They get on my tits (err!) and there is enough to read in a diskmag without a scrolly message too! But I will think about this for an update or a special BTF edition maybe. @3 -:Extracting source:-@1 Again, simply take it from disk. zYLAX makes sure all source code is in its own directory so it is very easy to find. (He's too kind to you lot :)) There's no point in BTF doing all that now, is there? Peeps without a hard disk should get one. You cannot seriously still work on an Amiga without a HD - ]5C'mon, it's the 90's for Gawdz Sake!]1 @3 -:Search:-@1 It's already done m8. Try it out and you'll see how good it is too :^) @3 -:Composer/Mod names:-@1 Well, I suppose I could add this very easily and I actually intended to add this feature to DMC V3, but forgot!!! Silly ass! I'll have this sorted 100% on any updates - sorry :( @4[Again, this features has been added since this article was first written. zYLAX!]@1 If you do have any more suggestions, lemme know. DMC has grown mainly due to requests by users. I'd love to hear any other comments (good or bad) about DMC via the pages of BTF - This is open to everyone except Shaun Watters! hehehehehe :) Hello Shaun (: @7 ------*------@1 ]5Hoi Jacka, fill in one of those interviews m8, let the readers know more about you. Do you code in AMOS or Blitz, do you have a HD, CD ROM .etc. etc.]1 Speak to ya next issue m8....
