Not exactly a dog, but an animal looking like one. Slowly he stood up and tried to step backwards. This was not too easy because this wild monster had damaged his left leg. So Mogar crawled backwards, all the time eye in eye with this horrible monster. Mogar couldn't understand where this creature came from; he had woken up, and there it was. And then things had proceeded fast. The monster had attacked Mogar and bit him in his left leg. Mogar had fled and found a cave. . . and he had then fallen into sleep (if sleep it were). But now there was no time to remember past things, it was time to think and act fast. The monster was coming closer, looking ferocious. Mogar searched for some kind of stone or stick to use as weapon, but found nothing. The ground was smooth and slippery, so Mogar continued to crawl backwards. Suddenly, the monster started to run, to jump and to bark. Mogar had never heard such terrible a barking before, and he got afraid. This was his mistake: the dog lept up and bit deeply into his throat. Mogar's blood filled the ground and the dog licked it up with great pleasure. Mogar felt like a bottle that is being emptied. And this pain! Mogar cried, but the cries just strenghtened his pain. Then he realized that something was wrong; normally he would be dead by now, but nothing happens. The dog sipped and the pain weakened his body and mind. Mogar, no longer able to think, fell into a deep coma. . . "A strong man!", said a huge man to a little, ugly dwarf. Mogar opened his eyes. The two men ran up to him and looked at his throat. "It heals perfectly, but this guy wakes up too fast!", said the gnome with a warning tone, his voice filling the whole room. "I will give him something that will make him him sleep for some more hours!", the huge man replied, and hewed his fist onto Mogars head. Mogar, not ready to move aside, felt for a short moment a heavy pain and fell back. "Wake up, guy, it's time!", cried the little gnome while shaking Mogars head up and down. "The shepherds are near! Do you want to be poisoned once more?" the little creature continued. Mogar, still not knowing where he was or who this ugly being was, slowly stood up. A cold feeling told him that his clothes were lost; he was naked. He searched around, but the gnome cried out a sharp "Stop this! You will get clothed as soon as possible!". Mogar asked in completely rough accent "Who you are and what have happened?". He startled about this naive question and this pain in his throat while speaking. Come on! The gnome dragged Mogar to a wooden door and stopped. Behind the door some growls could be heard. Mogar got afraid once again. This are the growls of this creature who killed him; it sounded like there were dozens of them. Mogar got confused "...who killed me" he thought and then "where am I?". But the gnome stopped all questions by crying "Run there, I will stop the shepherds!" and throwed him in another direction. Mogar ran and reached another door which was open. The man who hit him and two really beautiful women held him and lead him through the door. The man closed and locked the door. The two women lay Mogars painful body down. Mogar remembered that he was naked and felt a litte bit ashamed, but the two women didn't seem to care at all. They gave him a blanket as it was cold in the cave. Then some noise and the high voice of the gnome could be heard. "He will kill them all", said the man to Mogar. Mogar, still feeling some pain in his head too, asked: "Guys, tell me where I am, who you are and why am I not dead!". The pain in his throat forced him to stop. "You shouldn't talk to much", one of the women replied. "Worg will tell you all you want to know!". Worg, the man, came closer and started his speech: "We are the cavemen. We live in these caves because we don't want to get poisoned by the plants and the monsters outside the caves. You must keep in mind that this planet once had lovely blue nature scenery with no pollution or problems. However, the humans felt into exuberance and started to fight each other. A reason was not important, it was some little religious or economic problems. So the weapons got dangerous and also the environment was endangered. All men concentrated on their wars, and one day they lost control. An idiot ignited the "dark bomb", the most dangerous weapon that ever existed. Generally, the planet would have exploded like a big row of dynamite, but you took care and saved us. . . or, at least, a few of us. A cloud of radioactive gas that stopped the explosion by pressuring with some athmosperes also stopped all activities on our planet. As soon as the gas evaporated the life continued. But what happened was that the gas had some nasty side effects: many animals and humans died a slow and painful death. Their skin was burned and, thus, not able to breath. Many thousands metamorphed due to a fast adaption to the new conditions. Only a few passed the harmageddon without big changes. We fled into caves, as I told before, and started a new life here. It's practically like a new stone age." "But tell me, who was these ugly monster which attacked me?", Mogar asks. "Well, that was a shepherd, a vampire-like animal which sucks some of your blood and normally kills you with a big portion of poison. Before the harmageddon they were normal dogs. Why all these animals metamorphed into what they are now is a big riddle to us. We don't know." Mogar, deeply excited of his luck and the story Worg told him, spoke to himself: "So I didn't die, oh, well, I am from another planet, my structures are a little bit different. . . but luck indeed." "We have to go now, the shepherds know our place, and we must find another one. But please tell us about your mission!", says Worg. "My mission?", Mogar asks surprised. ˙(˙to be continued˙ ˙00) ˙01
