As we clearly stated in issue 15, ads aren't free anymore, so if you want your ads published, you have to send the amount of money stated in the 'Prices'- section. A special message to Zob / S!P of Scoopex: Writing 'Make sure to put my ad in EC #16 or else...' will definitely NOT give you any free ads, as long as you don't send any money!  -------------------------------------- To all people sending news and/or clip-art, and then expecting us to give you free ads:  Because this is our first 'payed-ads'- issue, and because some of you really helped us a lot, you've got your free ads, but please note, that this is NOT the way to get free ads! Always send the money with your ads. If we think you've helped us a lot, we'll then either return your money or just publish your ad more than once.  -------------------------------------- To all people who offered to compose music for the Eurocharts:  We really appreciate the offer, but we prefer using our own music. Still, thank you VERY much for the offer.  -------------------------------------- To all people sending just a vote- sheet and nothing else (Most of you!):  Using an envelope for just one single piece of paper, the votesheet, is a total waste of paper and money! Why not help our environment a little: Just use a paper clip with the sheet, write our address on the back side of it, and add a stamp. If all of you do this, we might save a whole tree for each issue! (Or at least SOME!)  -------------------------------------- To Nemo of Nexus:  We thought we'd made it clear: We do NOT have a diskback service. Especially not a free one, as you suggested! This time you only voted twice! About what you wrote: If you can't remember, whether or not you've voted for an issue, don't bother to vote! It gives us a hell of a lot of work to have to check this for each issue. Next time you vote more than once, you'll simply not be allowed to vote in the future.  -------------------------------------- To Gunhed of Nova:  You, like many others, try to use the non-present diskback-service... But you're the only one sending a stamp as well. I just don't think the Danish postal service will accept a French stamp on a letter, so...  -------------------------------------- To Prime Premium of Cyberiad:  Thank you for the music (why does that sound like some old ABBA-song?). It was actually very nice, especially 'Twilight Zone'. BUT, as stated above, we prefer using our 'own' music in the Eurocharts. Thanks anyway.  -------------------------------------- To Electron of Fantasy:  Thank you VERY much for your long and nice letter. It's letters like yours that make producing the Eurochart a nice job (as opposed to vote-counting! -ed). Now to what you suggested: I agree that fields behind the topics in the chart-menu gives a better 'feel', but we got pretty busy the last couple of days before the release of issue 15, so that wasn't included. It will, of course, be included at the latest in issue 17, but probably not in this issue, as we got quite busy the last couple of days. Please forgive us... Forgetting to state the issue-number was of course a big mistake (blaim the graphician, hehe!), sorry. It (probably!) won't happen again. You're not the only one wanting a slideshow-chart. Read the 'Catego- ries'-section about this, and the pack-, megademo- and megacharts as well. Again, thanks for your nice letter, and of course, also for spreading our vote-sheets.  -------------------------------------- To Remix of Desire:  You want some facts about the new code. Well, here we go: First of all, it's more 'system- friendly'. Crusaders located the code at a specific location in memory (ARGH! -Commodore). Because of this, trying to run the Eurocharts after running e.g. Directory Opus, would most likely result in an 'out of memory error', even though there was more than 1 Mb free. This was because the specific area in memory used by the Eurochart wasn't available. This won't happen with 'our' code. Furthermore, all main graphics are loaded from the beginning (as stated in the 'Editorial'-section of issue 15. :-)) And a cache-system (in the TRUE meaning of the word!) is included, that is, once an article/clip-art/gallery-pic has been loaded, it stays in memory. Of course, only if you have enough memory, but 1 Mb should be enough to have all articles and pictures in memory. You think that 20 NOK is too expensive for an advertisement, and you suggest, that we reduce the price. IF we do so, the price will definitely NOT be reduced to the amount of money you sent with your ad :-) (About 0 NOK!)  -------------------------------------- To Rioter of Equinox:  Nice first issue of the European Top 20. The fonts, the 'Prices'-section, a LOT of it, looked VERY much like... Well, I don't think I have to mention what it looked like. Well, the reason why it's called the Eurocharts is mainly because of a tradition. This is NOT a very good argument, we know, but the fact is that most people of the scene live in Europe, and furthermore, non-Europeans are of course allowed to vote and be voted for.  -------------------------------------- To Quite Intelligent of Fatal Action: (That is, if you exist!)
