Short software news Some news from the the games front: MINDSCAPE Mindscape has three new games for us in the pipeline, well... four actually. Three new games plus a special version for the A1200. The first one is called "Pierre Le Chef is... Out To Lunch". It's a platformer spread across 48 levels of food mayhem. You play Pierre in an attempt to create the most daring dishes of international cuisine, but you have to catch the ingredients first. On top of that, there are diseases and insects to take care of, and his jealous rivals will stop at nothing to set him back. The game spreads across 6 countries each with its own theme, secret levels and lots of power ups and over 1000 frames of humorous animation. I can't wait. Coming with a version for the AGA chipset is SIMLIFE, its a great hit in PC-land, but it needs a lot of processing power, so it could run slow on your A500, it's bound to be slower than SimAnt. The game has you thinkering all genetical factors in order to create life, and make it grow, expand and evolve. My first impressions were good, now lets with if they get it speedy enough. The last game is ALFRED CHICKEN. I have played the preview and it's another platformer based around a chicken who's friend Billy and his brothers and his girlfriend Floella have been kidnapped by the evil Meka-Chickes for a cloning experiment (doesn't sound to bad to me !??), You have to traverse lots of levels filled with traps and enemies in order to rescue them. The game plays good, very console like, and the animation is very smooth. This could be another hit for Mindscape. BULLFROG Coming soon from BULLFROG comes the long awaited SYNDICAT: The world is divided into corporations, and the people have found a new drug, the CHIP. It's implanted in your brain and it lets you see whatever you want. But (there's always a but, isn't there), the chip has a 'backdoor', and it is used to control them. You start as a young executive and are faced with over fifty elaborate missions. Use your chip controlled people to overcome and destroy your obstacles in order to conquer new teritories and syndicates. Featuring a stunning and mood-setting intro, a new graphic system, realistic sound effects, music and samples, and whole cities to play in. Each city really lives, with intelligent people, cars and trains, rival agents and law enforcement forces. And they all react to you in a normal manner, some will attack you and some will run away, whatever there mood.
