1.0 Now what does ClockGuardianV3.0 do, when and why ?
--------------------------------------------------------

Ever had the problem your clock crashed ? You, like me, probably noticed
the time difference after days, and although this is not lifethreatening,
I find it very annoying ! Of course, you can always check yourself what
date/time your system 'thinks' it is, but why not have a util that does
this for you, and gives you the opportunity to adjust that date/time if
 it is wrong ?

1.1 What dates/times are wrong according to ClockGuardianV3.0 ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------

 - All dates before ClockGuardian's creation date (26-Nov-1992).
 - All dates/times before the last time ClockGuardianV3.0 was used and
   had disk-WRITE-access !

1.2 How to Install ClockGuardianV3.0 !
-----------------------------------------

 -> Workbench 2.0
 ----------------
Place ClockGuardianV3.0 and ClockGuardianV3.0.info in your WBStartup
drawer. Now you may think you can skip the next section, BUT YOU CANNOT,
the next section will explain the preferences windows !

 -> Workbench 1.3 or less
 ------------------------
Edit your startup-sequence, in a way that ClockGuardianV3.0 will be
executed. Be sure to save the preferences ( CG.prefs ) file into your
SYS:S directory otherwise ClockGuardianV3.0 switches to it's defaults
which do not work correctly in Workbench 1.x. You can create the CG.prefs
file by keeping the left mousebutton pressed while ClockGuardianV3.0 is
executed. If you do this a window will appear with 5 buttons.
One button is called PREFERENCES, now press this button and another
window will appear this is the PREFERENCES window, here you find the
 following buttons ;

 - The top button either contains the text WORKBENCH 2.0 or WORKBENCH 1.3
just click this one and you will know why ! If you have Workbench 1.3
or less you should set this button to WORKBENCH 1.3.
NOTE : The buttons on this screen must look like they are popped up
          instead of pressed !

 - The next button either contains the text CHECK ALL VECTORS or CHECK
SOME VECTORS ! or CHECK NO VECTORS.
If you want ClockGuardianV3.0 to check your vectors for any suspicious
resident programme lurking around in your memory press until you read
CHECK ALL VECTORS. If you do not want ClockGuardianV3.0 to check your
memory press until you read CHECK NO VECTORS.
If you want ClockGuardianV3.0 to check vectors BUT not all vectors,
because you always have a resident programme of some kind in your
memory, press until you read CHECK SOME VECTORS. Now this button has a
second button attached to it and this button contains an ! , if you
press this button [!] another window will appear. In this window you
can tell ClockGuardianV3.0 which vectors it should check and which not,
simply by the press of a button. If you are ready press SAVE if you
want your settings saved or LEAVE if you do not want them saved !

 - The third button contains the text EDIT FILENAME. If you press this
button another window appears which contains the file and it's path
ClockGuardianV3.0 will execute if your date/time appears to be
incorrect exit this window by pressing your RETURN key.

 - At the bottom there are two buttons. When ready press SAVE if you want
your settings saved or LEAVE if you do not !

1.3 How to use ClockGuardianV3.0 !
------------------------------------

If you keep the Left-Mousebutton pressed while loading ClockGuardianV3.0,
you can adjust the date and time even if they are correct. I will not
explain all the buttons of ClockGuardianV3.0 as I think they are self
explainatary, with exception of the preferences section which is
 explained above ( section 1.2 ) !!!

1.4 The CG.prefs file and the defaults !
------------------------------------------

ClockGuardianV3.0 will check if there is a file called CG.prefs in your
SYS:S directory. If it does not find CG.prefs, it will switch to it's
defaults. This defaults are SYS:Prefs/time. This means if
ClockGuardianV3.0 'thinks' the date/time is wrong it will execute the
program 'Time' from your SYS:Prefs directory. If you do not want this to
 happen read section 1.2 !

1.5 Workbench 2.0/1.x !
-------------------------

Although this version is created for Workbench 2.0 it should work on the
earlier Workbench versions too, and I see no way why there should be
problems with newer versions of the Workbench !

History :
---------

 - November 1992 fourth release. ClockGuardianV3.0

   * Too many changes to remember ! Just keep your left mouse button
pressed while you start ClockGuardianV3.0 and you will see 70%

   * I moved the 'Everything is ok !' window, it will now only show up
     until everything is really ok.
   * If there is no 'SYS:S' directory it will be created if there is
     enough disk space.
   * Error report expanded.
   * ClockGuardianV2.0 and lower wrote the 'CG.data' file three times
     this is now removed.
   * ClockGuardianV2.0 and lower could crash if the 'CG.data' file did
not have the correct size, this is now fixed.
   * Included a bugreportform. Use it when needed !!

Known Bugs :
------------

This version is, I hope, pretty bug free, I am really optimistic about
 that ! ( Please don't put me down ! )

Possible Future Enhancements :
------------------------------

 * The return of the integrated date/time adjust window.

Problems :
----------

Just the usual, it doesn't pay to write shareware.
