=============================================================================  UGA NEWS WINTER 1992 ============================================================================= Because this is the last issue of 1992 (issue 28 will be out the first week of 1993) we will give you some update information: AMIGA FANTASY PD We have decided to stop the release of these creative PD disks because of lack of interest of the public and the decreasing amount of quality PD material. It seems that besides the Fish disks and some Megademos nothing special is being released, at least not enough to continue our own series. However we will continue with the PC series. NEWSFLASH SPECIALS Because we have stopped the AF disks and the fact that we still get good material that can't be placed on normal Newsflash disks (because of space- problems) we have decided to release every now and then NEWSFLASH SPECIAL disk with EXCLUSIVE material of (a) specific artist(s). We will include a textfile on this disks with information about the artists involved to give him some extra publicity for his talents and perhaps some extra work. Feel free to send us material for these disks but remember that we can only put exclusive material on these disks. The disks may not be distri- buted by PD-distributors because I get tired of semi-legal companies who have no scrupules to sell copyrighted products like e.g. the Red Sector demomaker and many more copyrighted titles. We work for the PUBLIC! and NOT for PD distributors !!!! If you dare to sell Newsflash or any of our other products then we will treat you the same as we treat commercial pirates so be warned. UGA POWERUTILITIES We are still developing some products that will be released this winter: - Died Professional - a fast and easy to use ANSI/Text editor FEATURES * Loading/saving of normal ASCII files containing ANSI escape sequences * WYSIWYG ANSI escape sequences, shown on screen as they would be when showing the file in the CLI (bold is shown as bold, italic as italic, colors as colors etc.) * Hotstart function * Runs in background * Three different kind of save functions offer the possibility of always keeping a backup copy of your old text-file, "safe" saving of files and normal saving * Font support for any fixed-spaced font * Relatively small (about 75K) * Kickstart 2.0 compatible - Didir - a very handy fileutility with many features FEATURES * Automatic action upon double clicking on a file * User settings for default actions for files * Built in (more-like) file viewer * Built in formatter/relabeler of disks (OFS only) * Independant show/hide masks for file lists * Hotstart function * Runs in background * 2.0 Link support * Copy & Move cloning * Recursive directory access * Relatively small (about 75K) * Kickstart 2.0 compatible * Auto directories, upon inserting/removing a disk the program checks if it's two directories are still available (if the "auto directory" option is set) and if not clear the directory and reload the new one (if present) * Select/Deselect pattern * Sort files on name/size/date * Access to the functions by both keyboard and mouse - Digid - a great tool for C-programmers FEATURES * Please check out the Digid article + screenshot UGA DISTRIBUTION ---------------- From 1-sept 1992 we have take some drastic decisions. For Europe our AMIGA distribution center will be moved to the UK. Our distributor Database Direct will handle European sales (except Italy and Holland). Therefor European dealers and customers have to contact Database for ordering UGA products. If you want to order an UGA product in Europe or when there is no local UGA distributor in your country then here are the salesprices in the UK.
