Everybody must have heard of the SPACE QUEST series, and as they are quite popular Sierra decided to revamp the old version of SPACE QUEST ONE into their latest offering. As an adventure goes (I can't tell you the plot, it'll spoil the game) you must escape from you're captured ship and retrieve a stolen mass-destruction weapon. Improvements over the old version are greatly enhanced graphics, better sound (no more PC bliebs) and NO TYPING!!!. Everything is now mouse/icon controlled. They even say they have added some twists to the plot, but I haven't played it far enough to discover them yet. Even though I have finished the old version a long time ago, this new one has me playing it again. It hasn't lost anything of it's charm and with the 92 standard it's nice to see all those exotic locations with better graphics, accompanied by some decent sound. The whole game is harddisk installable. You are right if you think that playing from floppy can be a time consuming affair. The only niggle is that the game still doesn't run very fast, but after a while you won't notice it so much. If you loved this game you won't be dissapointed, and if you missed it (how could you) go out and get this version, it's much much better.
