TURBO-CARDS ----------- It did take a time, but for the A3000 the 68040 turbo card, called Mercury, has become available. The card was available for the A2000, but not with these specifications : - Simple installation by lifting your old CPU and putting the card in the same slot. - Clockfrequency 28 MHz, upgradable until 33 or 40 MHz. - RAM expansion is done with SIMM-modules (32Mb). - Processor switch between 68030 and 68040. While in 68030-mode, the RAM can also be used. - Compatible with PP & S-ProRAM 3000, which means you can have a total amount of memory of 288 Mb. - Price quote : 1600 UK Pounds. RAM EXPANSION A500 plus ----------------------- CP Computerpheriferie in Germany has made a RAM expansion for the A500+. The standard expansion on this card is 1Mbyte ChipRAM extra and 1.8 MB Fastram extra. The great avantage of this expansion, is that the package comes with an adapter for Gary and Agnus. Hereby the user can expand its system until 2 Mbyte ChipRAM and 9.8 Mbyte FastRAM. An adapter to lift the chips out of their socket, is part of the package. The CP 500 plus / vario is available in 2 models : - with RAM : price 170 UK pounds - without RAM : price 70 UK pounds. GRAPHICS -------- The graphics card Rainbow has been upgraded, and is called, Rainbow-II. It's a 24-bit graphics card for the A2000/A3000. The card works in PAL-mode as- well in NTSC-mode. Both screen modes are available in interlace and non-in- terlace. The maximum screen resolution is 768 * 576 points. The price of this card is 550 UK pounds. VIDEO ----- The German firm Echtzeit Video sells it "PX Editing" video editing system for 1800 UK pounds. This system, with software and hardware, makes it pos- sible to capture 24 bit graphics. After capturing, the picture can be send to a professional videorecorder, which receives its data via a parallel or serial connector. The set is made for the A2000 and A3000. AMIGA 500 TOWER --------------- The American firm INNOVAtronics has developed a Tower case for the A500, called HIQ A500. The tower is supplied with 250 Watts power supply, ex- ternal keyboard, 6 expansion slots, 1 video slot, several connectors for diskdrives, tapestreamers or harddisks. A LED display is part of the tower case. Pricetag will be around 380 UK pounds. MODEMS ------ Supra has a new range of FAX-modems. These new models are fast, easy to use, and an optional datacommunications package is available for a price of 35 UK pounds. The topmodel SupraFAXmodem V32.bis, sends and receives its faxes and data with a rate od 14400 baud. His little brother, sends and receives data with a speed of 9600 baud.
