____________________________________________________________________________ FOUR COLOR IFF TO ANSI ____________________________________________________________________________ This is Vince speaking to you, I`m proud to present the first REAL 4 Color IFF to ANSI Converter. This Util is of course written in assembler language which makes it very short in length but powerfull in performance. To use this program simply type "IFF2ANSI" from CLI ! I`m to lazy to implement a workbench start including a load and save requester, maybe in a next version. This version supports only 4 color Grafix NOT less or more than four colors (2 Planes) it would easy be possible to do more than 4 colors but i thought why ! At the moment CLI and WB offers only 4 colors, that`s the reason ! The Grafix has to be in 320 * XXX format, that means in every case a width of 320 pixels, the number of lines is variable. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ After the programm is loaded, this only if you have more than 350 KB free in ram, you will be questioned for the filename to load. If you wanna exit here then enter "EXIT" or "exit". This is the name of your IFF picture. After the Grafix is loaded successfully the screen flashes in several colors to indicate the converting. After the job is finished the window clears and the created filelength will be displayed and you will be asked for the filename to save the file with. If you do not want to save the file then enter here "NIL:". You may display the file directly in your CLI Window by typing a "*" as save filename, be sure your window has the correct limits. That`s a hell FASTER than that LOUSY type command, isn`t it ? ______________________________________________________________________________ CREDITS FOR THIS DOC-TYPER HAVE TO GO TO NIK ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ Apendix I ______________________________________________________________________________ Now some hints: You may shorten the file by stripping the clear lines. Please do not use this proggy while important data is in memory or any other important tasks are running because it is not possible to know the final length of the output file. I reserve a huge buffer of 350000 bytes which should be enough for the most grafix but not for all ! I`m to lazy to do a check for Bufferoverflow in this version so be warned ! Know this: the more color changes in your grafix happen the longer the outputfile becomes. I mean especially these spray effects with many single dots in an other color. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ I think that this is enough explanation. If anybody of ya has still some questions should contact me at my own BBS named "VINCENT`S VAULT". Ya can get the number from ya local dealer. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT NOTICE: "IFF2ANSI" Is Copyrighted By Vince/TRISTAR!, But Can Be Freely Distributed, Providing That The Following Rules Are Respected.
