Thanks for being interested in this animation. The animation is in MPEG format so please be aware that due to the nature of the MPEG format, you will need a reasonably fast Amiga to push it along. A basic A1200 with some extra memory should do the job, though to be concurrent with one of the unbreakable laws of computing, the more processor power and memory, the better! (Dammit Jim, I'm an animator, not a programmer!) The other icons on this disk do as follows: Install - Err... Installs the animation. The MPEG file is split in three and it joins them together into to make a file called AmigaLogoAdvert.mpg on the root directory of your Work: partition. It also copies the file MPEG_Play into your C directory. PlayAmigaLogoAnim - Aside from being a filename that would otherwise need a 486 PC with 8 meg of RAM, this baby actually plays the animation from your HD. Don't forget to ensure that your Workbench is set to use AGA screenmodes or the MPEG player will fall flat on its wee face! Uninstall - Deletes AmigaLogoAdvert.mpg from your HD, as well as the MPEG_Play file from your C directory. You can, of course, delete these files yourself, I just thought that some users would appreciate this. Don't worry!! I'm not in the business of writing scripts to do things like Format HD1:!!! Just double-click on Install to get the whole show running. Once that's done you can drag the PlayAmigaLogoAnim icon to anywhere on your HD that you want so that you don't need this disk whenever you want to watch it. The actual MPEG file will have to stay where it is, though you can of course move it to wherever you want if you edit the path name in the player script. I decided to create this animation after seeing the publicity posters from AT. I thought that it would look cool if it actually did something! If AT want to display this anim on their stand at the forthcoming Amiga show, they can contact me at the address below for the full frames! This would have been released for public consumption a lot earlier, but cirumstances beyond my control dictated that I couldn't! Not to mention that I was beginning to think that it wasn't actually meant to be released! First of all, my HD crashed though luckily I had backed it up the day before. No loss there... Only I had to go home to Northern Ireland for Christmas for a fortnight holding any progress back for that amount of time. So I get back and what happens? The FPU on my acclerator decided to lie on its back and point its little legs heavenward.... Anyway, I persevered, it's finished, it's here and you better bloody well like it!!! ;)) The following hardware and software were used to create this animation: Amiga 1200 Blizzard A1230 accelerator card + 16Mb RAM Zip100 drive 420Mb Seagate HD Power Scanner Power CD drive Squirrel SCSI interface Imagine 3.0 DPaint Personal Paint Photogenics Easy MPEG ImageFX If you want to get in touch with me for whatever reason, you can do so at the following address: Jonathan McBrien 16 Drumbawn Drumclay Enniskillen Fermanagh BT74 6NF Send me a Zip cartridge and I'll try and fill it to the brim with my other animations!
