@2 D I G I T A L N I N J A @3 The Next Generation @4 Alas, the test of time swings the scythe of survival and scars the plans of software developers, Digital Ninja. @5 Lee Bamber, known for various highly rated games, and some equally abysmal ratings, has finished and completed his Computer Studies HND and for simple reasons of survival, has aquired a job particularly suited to his talents. Not only is it a job writing entertainment software, the place of work is Europress Software, who of course published AMOS. Because dedicated work on Digital Ninja products is both impractical and simply not ethical, Lee has passed the Digital Ninja banner to the remaining team members. They shall continue to create software for the Digital Ninja brand, but will be slow moving and patience will be required. @1 Better to wait in anticipation than to have nothing atall, and the new team have a head start with both a known reputation, a sizable development lab and plenty of leasons already learned. @3 Officially, one of the first products created by the new Digital Ninja will be the long awaited 'Relics of Deldroneye II'. Using an enhanced version of the editor, coded during the development of 'Return to Zantis', the new Relics driver has been brought upto date and makes the quest of exploration even more enjoyable. Their debut should prove to be a great success, and should demand for more arcade adventures sustain, their skills in this area will increase with time. @4 As for Lee, you will hear from him from time to time...The question of where is entirely in the hands of fate. (But as Lee doesn't believe in such a word as fate, it's down to the same skill and creativity that made Digital Ninja what it is!) @5 As the Amiga gradually regains the ground it so unfairly had pulled from under it, the foundations of the new Amiga will soon establish once again in the large corporate powers of computer commerce. Lee will bide his time now and for the next few years dedicated to the evolution of the journey pseudo-AMOS will make. Learning to value the professional edge of industry and emulating the methods employed, Lee shall venture through the peril that IS the PC. Dated, overpriced and tedious though is it, we're also stuck with it. With his obligations to Europress based on a programmer that values innovation amongst all else, the Lee Bamber of the Amiga world will wait for the opportunity to return. Not to the dismay of an employer who depends upon his continued support, but for the greater truth that in the battle of the Amiga Vs Everyone else, the Amiga holds all the chips! To all those who have already made the move over, 99% of them would avoid @5the question of which platform was more enjoyable to program...The simple truth lying in the hearts of anyone lucky enough to be familiar with the Amiga. As a force of commerce, it can only fail to compete against a computer that has been accepted by industry for more than twenty years! As a force of creative flexibility, no computer has ever come close, and with it's re-emergence, will prove to continue this monopoly for a very long time. @3 EVEN TO THE END, WE YELL... @4 From one of my very own magazine captions, 'We better give these people jobs (PD Authors), or we're screwed!'. Taken from the very true Amiga Action guys, who are one of a very many people who not just say but know the state of things. Alas, I am too late to be Amiga established to fight the fiscal mongels, and too early to thrive in the new Amiga awakening. I am too responsible to become unemployed, and not lucky enough to find a surviving Amiga software supporter. Indeed, as a firm believer of the ethos of turning bitter disadvantage to outragious advantage, I intent to begin my exploits in the Amiga world prepared. Anyone who contests the power of the Amiga has never experienced it. For those who shy away from it's influence must to do so out of ignorance or nessesity. This is nessesity, signing off. Goodbye! @5[6It is a sad day when Lee Bamber gives up Amos to move over to a pastures new! As Lee says, Digital Ninja will continue and hopefully with everyone's support, the new team will give us some great new titles to try out. I must admit that I am the only person I know that hasn't ever played Relics and therefore don't have anything inside me saying "hurry up with the sequel!" Sad but true ! (sorry !) I have always wanted to try it out, but just never managed to get around to purchasing a copy (always skint) Honest I think I should start a collection from every reader of Az so that I can buy this game - don't you? (To be honest with you all - I never get the time to play a lot of games and Relics would be no fun for me as I have the complete solution which I would probably just read! Anyway, where was I ? Ah yes, Sorry to see Lee leaving Digital Ninja but hopefully he WON'T be leaving the pages of Amoszine (although I think he will slowly fade away (just like Andy Dobinson who just seemed to vanish - maybe he should ask Paul Daniels for a job as that's a good trick!) Once again, good luck Lee with your new work and congratulations on getting yer HND (you clever git)@1 - Andy Gibson
