The  AMOS  AGA  extension  has finally fallen into the hands of an honest
distributor,  namely  F1 Licenceware.  The price has also been reduced by
60%.

AMOS  with  AGA  capabilities, for only £3.99?  Surely the bargain of the
century?

Sadly,  no.  I too was looking forward to this, but unfortunately, it's a
bit  of  a  let-down.   Although  the  instructions  say you can load and
display  IFF  pictures,  you first have to convert them into two separate
files  -  one  holding the image data, and the other holding the palette.
This is easily achieved with the PicCon utility, which is also included.

So  now  you  have your lovely AGA screen loaded, let's move some sprites
infront  of  it.   A quick look at the manual reveals that you cannot use
sprites on an AGA screen.

There  are  about  20  commands  in  this  extension, and to be perfectly
honest,  it  has  a  very  "unfinished"  feel  to  it,  But I would still
recommend that you buy it, even though it has a fairly low score.

The  reason for this is that I can see the potential of an AGA extension,
and  the author plans to continually update this extension, provided that
it  is  supported  by  enough people.  As long as the author keeps to his
word,  and  F1  Licenceware can supply the updates at a reasonable price,
there  shouldn't  be  a  problem.  Four quid is hardly going to break the
bank, now, is it?
