Let's start with the old ones. 228 Maniacs Of Noise #1 ----------------------- The first disk out of three from this talented bunch of music writers. The disks are packed with sound-fx and game tunes. Every single one can be controlled and restarted at will. And addresses included so if you need any music for your own productions then you know where to go. (No, I didn't get any money for this advertisement but I happen to be an enormous fan of MON) This disk contains music from Kim T. Christensen (Onslaught title), Johannes Bjerregard (Stormlord and Tusker title) and Charles Deenen who happens to be the driving force so I'm told. Charles did also the sound-fx and the title music of Insects in space and the ingame music of Tusker. 229 Maniacs Of Noise #2 ----------------------- Yes, you got it the second magnetic media of the collection. And this one is truly packed with music. All by Charles Deenen. Flimbo's Quest, Unreal, Mazemania and Chinese Chess. Excellent music, I must admit where the games failed to get my attention (that's normal for me) the music gets it for a 100% 230 Maniacs Of Noise #3 ----------------------- Already the last one. A shame, if you got more then let me know! Again music only made by Charles Deenen. Dragon Wars, Mysterious World and Rubicon in all level, loader, gameover, title and hiscore tracks. And of course the sound-fx. As I said, an excellent collection with great music. Don't forget to send or upload me some more MON songs ! 231 Crionics, Total destruction ------------------------------- Again, an oldy on which I missed out. It all starts out with a digitized pic- ture of a man who got skulls in his hair (don't ask me why). The intro has some stunning moving effects and a great dissolverroutine and a heavy guitar- sound. The odd colorcycled plasma effect which must be great at the time of pro- gramming (1990!) but certainly isn't at this time but more of that later on. Ahh wel it isn't certainly not bad but still ir..... 232 Axis, Unknown Territory --------------------------- First glance at this demo shows fantastic glossy graphics with lovely shades and a overall good finishing touch. A great animated blinking eye and fast fractals (mandelbrot). The code is well done, an excellent zooming sine scroller. Like the blinking eye there are several small (foggy) animations. Great animation of Holland also. A dozen sine scrollers at one time isn't that stunning. Crackerjack (coder) and Fresh (graphs) have really done their best on this demo. GREAT zoom effects and NO VECTORS until the message part ah well can't be perfect. And a little little message from me to the creators: I don't know about Tilburg but there's just a shop who sells UGA stuff their good friends but aren't UGA software, contact Ron next time! You MUST have this demo ! .......... 233 The Flame Arrows, Plasmutex '91 ----------------------------------- Glossy graphics here also and a funny track based on some Madonna vogue'ing. A shame that the tune stays 'slow' the whole time. It could have been a great intro something great. Anyway it sounds familiar and good. The demos features a great full-screen plasma routine which is definitely cool and some pixel movement, they about 2048 pixels but it could be one more or less, nobody knows. I didn't count them for sure. It has something, yes.. 234 Decade, music tunes V1.0 ---------------------------- A musicdisk with seven tunes and not the best tracks I've ever heard. All sound alike but still have something catching. The tracks got me thinking about the early days of the Amiga. Tastes differ but if you're a music fan then check it out on occasion. 235 Scoopex disk 173 -------------------- What a name, and what a number. Where the other 172 are I don't know (hmmm, come to think about it I must have some in my collection). A well the reason I included this disk is simple but true. Cool demos. Just five (5). The first demo is from Vision called Another One. A funtastic demo which cool code a zoom scroller and a funny part where in a map of Holland an arrow shows the places where the members live together with a comic like picture of the same member. A nice soundtrack also ..... From TRSI comes the Prism demo which contains (Yuc!) vectors but in great colours and as an added bonus you can change those colours. In fact it are plasmas in vectors. Beautifull effects. Feel the vibes from Digital in a little 'LSV' demo, nothing special but still nice work and catching music. Coma televison presents to you Hot Dots. A smooth effect in this one is the transformation from dots to a picture. The demo is based on a dot routine like many others but has that extra finishing touch that makes it interesting. The 'orplasm' is great too. I must say some great and stunning effect are in it (normally when they say that I already reset my computer because it doesn't come true but this time I'm glad I didn't reset it). And finally the last demo on this disk is one from the hidden, a sort of promotion demo with nice colours effects and a housy tune.
