============================================================================= UGA EDITORIAL ============================================================================= Dear readers, First I want to wish you all a fantastic 1992 and ofcourse much health and pleasure the coming 12 months. Newsflash is going to it's fourth year al- ready so you see that time is flying when you are having fun. Just for the deadline we received the information that our big "Friend" of US Action had gone bankrupt. We expected this a long time ago because the list of companies that had take steps against this company was only getting longer and even companies as Commodore and Psygnosis were involved. We will continue battling in court to one of the other companies (same owner) the coming months. If we win I will finally get my money. The new name that showed up after the death of US Action was Computer Connection. The official owner is the same person as the person who was manager of the US Action shop in Eindhoven. So another chapter in this book of Amazing Stories has started. In this issue you will find news about the new UGA series which are now non-exclusive and will be released under the name AMIGA FANTASY. Also the new products Powerpacker 4, Powermenu, Kill da virus and Huge are now available from all distributors. Again I want to warn some pirates that if they will continue with piracy of our titles we will have no mercy. For every day you have an UGA title on your BBS we will charge you US$500 so at least our lost of sales is covered. Also private information and location will be passed to local authorities. And this especially counts for New Zealand where even some PD boards seems to spread pirate copies. Keep your boards clean or you will be out of business. Any case of piracy will be passed to local lawyers who will take steps against violators. Any cases of commercial piracy will go to court without warning. It is a sad thing which happened with the Red Sector Demomaker in the UK but this was also the fault of Data Becker who hired some people of a group that is still cracking copyrighted software and who run one of the major pirate boards in Germany. A part of RSI is luckily doing some better things and produces superb demos. Keep up this high standard and keep your group clean of software piracy. 1992 will also be the year of one United Europe but the first signs already show that this is nicer on paper than in real life. People are so different in Europe that I would prefer a Europe where every state can keep it's own identity but where you can have free trade. Opening the borders will mean that criminal organisations or big multi- nationals will gain more influence and more power and this can result in weaker (state) governments. This can be a risky business. Let's hope that things will work out positively and that the agreements made by the EEC will be valid for ALL countries and not contain exceptions like the one agreed on some weeks ago in Holland at Maastricht. Also the events in Eastern countries will cause some fears for the future. It seems that years of living under pressure now results in a violent mood. The only way out is cooperation or all parties will suffer. Let's hope these problems will be solved in 1992 and will lead to a better life for the people in these countries. This editorial sounds more as a political editorial but I think these events are very important for the future of Europe and are too important to ignore. Let's hope that 1992 will be a year of positive changes. At last I like to thank all people who bought our products, supported our PD series or contributed to Newsflash in 1991. YOU MADE IT POSSIBLE !!! I hope you enjoy this new issue of Newsflash, it took me two weeks to produce so I hope you like the results. Special thanks this time to: Martyn, Martin, Peter, John, Frederic, Nico, Frank, Harry and all others. Watch out for our new PD series called AMIGA FANTASY and the coming Powerutilities and license disks......
