                   "Real Things" Burst to life on the Amiga
                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The 16Bit show saw the first London  showing of a unique software concept,
  Live-Action BIRDS you can  load  into  your  computer  and create your own
  wildlife animations. Scenery for their  habitat  you can build yourselves,
  action art of real living  bird  species  you  can create without being an
  artist.
  The "Real Things"  animation  software  is  the  product  of collaboration
  between specialist wildlife  artists  and  computer  programmers. The best
  home/school computers are capable of real art  these days, in the hands of
  real artists. Whats  different  now  is  that  with  the  correct software
  anybody can share in the  picture  making  and  use the artists product to
  express their minds-eye ideas - they bring it to life.
  Peter Partington,  prominent  bird  artist  and  a  major  contributor  to
  RealThings BIRDS 1 & 2,  created  his  animated components directly on the
  Amiga. "It was frightening at first" he admitted "but now I am used to the
  medium I can  express  actions  and  achieve  colourings  new  to  me in a
  lifetime of bird painting".
  The producers of the  RealThings  series,  RGB  studios,  will continue to
  enlist the  best  talent  and  make  opportunities  for  fine  artists and
  illustrators to move into the  computer  era whilst keeping their identity
  and a pride in their work.
  The currently released REAL-THINGS  issues  run  on  an Amiga using Deluxe
  paint III as the host software and software for other systems is now under
  development.
  The package contains hosts of images, scenery and animbrushes for the user
  to create both stills and wildlife  animations, each different and open to
  experimentation. They provide hours of  fun  and  enjoyment for Dpaint III
  animators.
  I feel this kind of software and  usage  of such a popular program (Dpaint
  3) is a refreshing change and  something  that  will most likely appeal to
  mature users looking for a  change  and  a  way  to express their artistic
  abilities without  having  to  draw  much  themselves.  I  also  feel this
  software would be very popular  with  American  users, I'm not sure wether
  they are available though. Full  details  from  ROBIN BILSON, RGB Studios,
  Buxted, East Sussex, TN22 4PP,  England.  Tel  082  581 266. Issues in the
  series: Horses, Birds 1 & 2.
