          PHOBIA - "NEOPLASMA"

          In  this  age  of  "Music  Techno  Demos",  "Mustros"  and
          whatever  they're  all  called,  the  days of good (?) old
          music  disks still aren't over.  Here's one from the group
          Phobia,  called  "Neoplasma".   The  disk features 5 songs
          from  3  various  tracker  musicians.  Upon loading, we're
          presented  with  some  pretty  good  looking  horror-style
          graphics and a terrible (sorry) first song, which seems to
          be  some  sort of effort to combine techno and doom-metal.
          The  main  screen  soon comes up, with further nice horror
          graphics,   a   straight-forward   menu  of  the  5  songs
          available,  and some very very outdated "VU-meters" at the
          bottom of the screen.

          The music on the disk is very much mediocre; the coding is
          *below*  mediocre,  and  the graphics are somewhat *above*
          mediocre.   Adding  these  factors together, I'm left with
          the  impression  of  a  pretty  mediocre  presentation all
          together.  The best music piece was probably "Dimensions".

          Hoping  to  avoid sounding patrionizing, I cannot help but
          mention that technically and musically, the Crusaders made
          a disk just as good as this one - only, the Crusaders made
          it  in  1989.   It  was titled "Audio-X", and consisted of
          pretty  much  the  same  ingredients  and  with  the  same
          artistic  quality, both in music and presentation.  In the
          5  years  which  have  passed  since then, we have come to
          expect somewhat more.
