Manual for X Copy 2.0 Configuration: X-Copy adapts by itself to any given system configuration. It uses the connected disc-drives as well as possible memory expansions. Use: The program is mainly controlled with the mouse. All important functions can be selected and changed from the menu-bar. To select an option you move the pointer to it and then you click the left mouse-button. The start/endtrack has to be entered with the little triangles over each number. Sync and other options in this line work a similar way. Options: Doscopy - is a fast copy mode, which allows you to copy a disc as it is. This means, if it finds a read write-error, it does not correct it. The nibble-mode of Doscopy is not as strong as the nibble mode in Nibblecopy. Nibblecopy - one of the strongest nibble-modes ever in a copy program. It may take a while, but it copies almost everything, but long tracks. It also copies IBM, Atari ST, Acorn Archimedes and many Keyboard-discs. Doscopy+ - is a fast copy mode as Doscopy, but it repairs errors which are found on your source disc. Checkdisc - is used to detect reading mistakes on a disc. For tracks not corresponding to AmigaDos-standard, a red number is shown instead of the green zero. The number correspondends to a given error (compare: List). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fastformat - formats a target disc in 35 seconds. The Fastformat Mode is Modified by JAVL ! it now gives a 'zero' format, it used to not wipe the disk properly clear but now it does ! In the boot it writes a special bootblock you can clear that - if you want - with a disk installer or maybe even better, a virus protector ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Optimize - reorganizes your data-discs, so the data can be loaded faster. This option requires more than 512 k memory to work properly. You must never use this option with your ORIGINAL - discs, because they could get damaged. Default - all parameters are returned to the standard value. Start/Endtrack - allows to choose between 00 and 81 Side - you can also choose to copy only one side of the disc, for example, when an Atari ST disc is only formated on one side. Sync - allows you to change the syncs. Only to be used by experienced users. Disc/Ram - you can either copy from disc to disc(s) or you can copy into RAM and then out of the RAM to make as many copies as you need. When you choose ram-copy, you can use the source-drive also as a target drive, together with the other drives. Killsys - if you do not have at least 1MB of memory, then you may choose this option to free some additional memory. If you choose killsys, you have to reset the Amiga, to leave X-Copy. Start/Stop - starts/aborts the choosen option Repeat - if you use the ram-copy-option, this enables you to repeat the copying process. Choose Source/Target/Verify - to select a source-drive, click on a "lightbulb" in the upper line, to select one or more target drives, select as many lightbulbs in the lower line as you want. The choosen bulbs turn yellow, when selected proper. To copy with verification click on the choosen target-bulbs again. If a red V appears, the data is copied to this disc with verification. Timer - In the lower-right corner we installed a timer, so you can always see how long a process takes. Quit - If you want to leave X-Copy, take out all discs from connected disc drives and then click the pointer over the upper-left corner of the screen.
