REVIEW OF: 17 BIT SOFTWARE WRITTEN BY: Richard Davies (AM1033) DATE: 23/8/88 I first saw 17 BIT advertised in Amiga User and I jumped at the chance of a free disk - After all if it was no good I may as well Format it. The delivery took about two weeks but as it was free, I was not too concerned about this. Anyhow, when I got the disk I loaded it into the computer and expected it to be a bit amateurish but I got the shock of my life when I sure the Boot block title bit - straight away I thought that this was something good. I was very impressed by the professional quality of the layout and the content of the disk really was first class. The megademos are a brilliant idea and there is obviously a lot of thought gone in to making these complex animations. Back to the subject though, I decided to become a member of 17 BIT by sending off for 4 PD disks. These came within 3 days! The high quality Public Domain programs really showed my what my Amiga could do and I appreciated the way that icons were used wherever possible. All in all 17BIT is the best club for the indvidual that I have seen so far it is summed up below:- <*> 1 Regular updates free of charge to members 2 Low price high quality public domain software 3 WIMP enviroment on nearly all disks 4 Martyn's sense of humour 5 Bloody fast mailing (3 days) 17 BIT gets 10 out of 10 from me - you could not hope for a better user club. No we didnt write it!! Would we do that? Of course we wouldnt! Just confirming what most people already knew... 'he says boastfully'! Better go because our heads will get too big if we hang around here for much longer!
