SType by Christopher Landmark Naas / SSD


SType is a CLI command similar to TYPE. SType lacks some of TYPE's
funcions, but is about 12 times faster at printing text on an A500
when the CLI is filled. Loading times were included in the test,
since SType is a bit bigger than type.

I made STYPE because TYPE was so damn slow at typing text on my
former A500. SType was written for personal use, so don't expect a
flashy program, because it was never ment to be.



SType:


FORMAT:  SType filename1 filename2 filename3 etc.


PURPOSE: To display a text file(s).


PATH:    Wherever you put it. Preferably Sys:c


SPECIFICATION:

STYPE will output the contents of the named file(s) to the current
window. If more than one filename is specified, the files will be
typed in sequence.
STYPE prints ANSI, so text containing ESC codes will be output
correctly.
STYPE pauses output after each file. To print the next, simply
press return.
To pause output in the middle of a file, press the Space bar. To
resume output, press BackSpace, Return, or Ctrl+X. To stop output,
press Ctrl+C (*** BREAK SType is displayed).


EXAMPLE:

1> SType S:Startup-sequence

The contents of the Startup-Sequence in the S: directory will
be displayed on the screen.



SType has been successfully tested on an A4000 with the
Motorola '040. It should work on ALL Amigas. If not, let me know.
