IMPORTANT!

DiskMaster 1.3 is  NOT compatible with the configure file
created by DiskMaster 1.0. In order to use DiskMaster 1.3,
you must first delete the "DiskMaster.config" file found
in the DEVS: directory.

DiskMaster 1.3 Addendum

Several changes have been made to DiskMaster. This document
will address the changes as they would appear in the manual.


One change that affects all instructions is the way you can
now select file entries to be acted upon. In addition to
clicking on the file to select it and de-select it, you can
now select a range of files by holding down the left mouse
button while dragging the pointer down the list of files to
be selected. You can de-select a range of files in the same
manner.


Getting Started: Hardware and Software Requirements

In addition to ARC, you will need the program ZOO in
your C: directory.

Menus:

In addition to PROJECT and CONFIGURE, the ARCHIVE menu
has been added.

Source and Destination:

For easier identification, in addition to the "S" and
"D" identifiers, the source path window is also high-
lighted. For more convenience, the source will
automatically flip when the Amiga detects a floppy disk
change.


Protecting Files:

In addition to the ARWED bits, DiskMaster now supports
the new bits found in workbench version 1.3. These are
H, S, and P. These stand for "Hidden", "Script", and
"Pure".



Archive Functions:

The Archive functions have been moved from the Configure
and PROJECT menus to a new menu called ARCHIVE. In
addition to ARC Add, ARC List, and ARC Extract, three
more items have been added. ZOO ADD, ZOO List, and ZOO
Extract is now supported. You will use these new entries
in the same manner as the ARC entries described in the
section of your manual called WORKING WITH ARCHIVES.

The manner in which you change the individual commands
has changed. Instead of changing these entries in the
CONFIGURE menu, simply select the menu item you wish to
change without selecting a file for the command to act
upon. A requester will appear with a number of suggested
entries and you will proceed to alter the command as
described in ARCHIVE FUNCTIONS.

Another enhancement has been added to the ARC Extract
and ZOO Extract selections. The device list will be
displayed for you to more easily select the device to
which to write the extracted files.




External Commands:

We have expanded your command selection from six to ten
different commands that can be programmed into
DiskMaster. We have also expanded the types of commands
that can be entered. To duplicate the current setting of
RUN, you will need to alter the entry so that it reads
"RUN %s". This will cause the RUN command to be appended
with the name of the selected file or files. The RUN
command must reside in the C: directory of your system
disk. If you wish to call a command that is not in the
C: directory, simply enter the complete pathname i.e.
"DF1:c/RUN %s".

You can now enter a command that does not act upon a
file. For instance, NEWCLI does not require a filename
to be selected. For this and similar commands, simply
enter the command without the "%s" on the end. 

Commands may now be entered with additional arguments.
The command SETCLOCK (found on v1.2 workbench disks)
requires an argument of LOAD or SAVE. Simply enter the
command followed by the argument; "Setclock Load".

All of these new entry modes may be combined. In the
case of a popular text editor, the command E may be
entered by itself, if the command resides in the C:
directory. It may be entered with a pathname such as
"DF1:E". It may be entered so that it will load a file
to be edited as in "E %s". And it may be entered with an
argument such as "E sticky" or "E %s sticky".

These new command features allow you to make much
greater use of this feature than ever before.

File Protection:

In addition to ARWED, the new H, S, and P bits have been
added. You can set and un-set these bits as you did the
others.


Working with Archives:

Instead of using the PROJECT menu, all archive functions
are found under the ARCHIVE menu. In addition to the
"ARC" selections, we have added corresponding "ZOO"
functions.
