AUX: device has been changed to AUXx: x - being node number this enables the sysop to run multiple nodes with remote shell -- Change AUX: to AUX0: in your mountlist for the first node 01-28-90 -------- 2. On the command line added -mDIR allows the sysop to send zooming mail out to a device like RAM: etc, this speeds up zooming mail INCREDIBLY!! make sure your path or device ends in a : or a / ***** NOTE (05-13-91): This version doesn't support zoom, it will be updated to use a new file compressor. 3. also added -bFILENAME This will execute a batch file after a user logs off, the modem will busy out while the batch file is being executed. ALL these - options should be at the end only!!! 4. On the System password if you create a text file called Private.txt it will display that file before asking for the system password 5. The New user password has a text file called NewUserPW.txt 6. To run multiple nodes all you need to do is make two config files each with a different NODE Number, you should start at ZERO. Then run two copies each with a different config file like express bbs:config1 express bbs:config2 each of these must have there seperate stack etc. 7. PLEASE EVERYONE NOTE that the config program has an entry for reading private mail called SYSOP READ, middle column, this needs to be set at say 250... This is a sysop only type function. 8. script questionare has been changed to allow for different scripts at different bauds, eg. script300 script9600 etc.. 9. All passwords have been implimented, a system password would be asked right after the Welcome prompt, it will be the first thing asked. 11. Archive checks have now been enabled. This brings us upto the May 27, 1990 update of AmiExpress. Now for the real fun! AmiExpress in 1991! ------------------------------- New in 1991 --------------------------------- 05-13-91 -------- 12. In s:bbs1load The line ``setenv warpckbuf 131082'' should be deleted 13. To the files in directory ``BBS:NODE#'' (9 above), add the following: computerlist This is the computer types that were hardcoded into the old AmiExpress. File format is: number of computer types on the first line, followed by the computer types, one per line. Try to keep them shorter than 34 characters, since the prompt will not look very good if they are longer. joinconf100.txt joinconf50.txt.gr joinconf.txt This file replaces ``joinconference.txt'', seen when Join is typed without an argument. Before it are examples of ACCESS and ANSII mode versions of joinconf.txt. 14. The .gr version is now optional in most places if one does not exist the graphics user will see the non-graphics version of the file. See real docs for a complete list of files that follow this format. In addition ANSII graphics are stripped if you have ANSII mode turned off. This means that you could add color to all files and they would be stripped if the person requested no Graphics. 15. The JoinConf#.txt files have been changed to not need a version of the file for each access level that exists on the system. If a menu does not exist for your access level you will get the next LOWER access version. This is done in increments of 5, for example, if you are 255 and no JoinConf255.txt exists then you will be shown 250 or 245, 240, 235, ..., 10, or JoinConf.txt if no other exists. This would be the same search list if your access was 254. See real docs for a complete list of files that follow this format. 16. Create the following directories in the directory ``BBS:NODE#''. Note, if this is a local node then you do not need these directories. Work Used for File descriptions before upload, test output from archive checking. PlayPen This is were uploads go while uploading. 17. If you wish to make a local node. Define the node normally, or load in a currently active node, then change the node number. Now to make this node local. You must make the device null, do this by selecting the device field and hitting Right-Amiga-X and then hit return. It should have no spaces. 18. Note. this version has no ZOOM. It is being reworked to allow for a new file compressor. Update to come allong shortly. NOTE: Another file must exist called BBS:NODEx/NAMESNOTALLOWED this file should at least contain: ALL EALL SYSOP This is a file that contains user names that are not allowed on the system.
