I will tell you a real horror that happened to Twilight Zone some days ago...


Tale 1


I was just painting a title picture for this mag in DPaint and after some time I wanted to save it. But, instead of saving, famous message appeared: Volume FontDisk has read/write error. After the first shock, I saved picture on another disk. When I wanted to get dir from CLI another 'lovely' message appeared: Not a DOS disk in unit 1. Block 883 was destroyed, so I made a backup of it and fixed disk in DiskCraft (thanks!). After that everything was fine and disk was OK (this is not the end).

Tale 2


The day after, Dr.J and I were finishing our demo (Introduction Demo) at my place. After some time we went downstairs to watch some TV and left Amiga turned on. When I got back, I saw a sprite moving on the screen, with his damned text: Joshua
. So, while we were away from Amiga, virus completely took control over it and managed to destroy Dr.J's disk with sources and the Introduction Demo (original disk). I must say that the virus almost fucked up The Outer Limits disk, but we did everything to save it becouse we knew what a pitty that would be. Then we knew what destroyed my one and only disk with pictures. We hurried to start the best virus killer around (Master Virus Killer V2.0) and we found what we expected to find. I just mentioned the most important disks, but virus was copied on some other disks, too. We really enjoyed slaughtering the Joshua (It's great feeling when you know that you can kill the virus without any problems. Try it!).

Everything ended happy and now our disks are free of Joshua. You can take this article as warning. The point was that we haven't had problems with viruses for the long time and we weren't carreful enough.

Tale 3


This part is written 2-3 weeks after the first one. It tells about much worse virus and his name is Saddam!!!
 He infected our disks on the Amega party and it seems that he made quite a mess out there. We were lucky because we also have a killer called Schwarzkopf (guess why!). Saddam infects Disk-Validator and therefore it's quite a vicious one, becouse it can install itself into memory not only when booting from infected disk, but even when just inserting the infected disk into drive (while validating). But be carefull, when you destroy Disk Validator there is no way to recover your disk, so you must kill it with Schwartzkopf or some other killer.

The first disk that was infected by him was Pictures disk (again!). I saved my pictures by recovering the files in DiskX (thanks!). Now I have few backups of every important disk, just in case. This bastard (virus, not Pictures disk) spreads himself like hell. He infected my CodeDisk (Twilight Zone's most important disk), but Schwarzkopf won and Saddam died. Now you may ask, what is that virus if he didn't infected at least one copy of the Outer Limits? Well, he did it! He managed to destroyed Dr.J's disk with The Outer Limits. But, mighty Twilight Zone team saved it once more!

Right now we are looking for the Saddam's nest (the first disk which was infected by him). We wish us good luck...
