THE TWILIGHT ZONE, as many people doesn't know is a group about two years old. And you don't know that, because we weren't very active. But let's start at the beggining... About five years ago (in '86,I think) I got my first computer. It was Spectrum +!!! You should see what beast it was... Lord at that time already owned Spectrum 48K and we had a really great time programming real-time ray-traced filled vectors and... (OK, you got me. I'm lying.) We had a really good time programming in BASIC and dreaming of C64. (That's more like it...) We were going to same class and exchanged computer knowledge, but we didn't know anything about scene, groups and stuff like that (Did scene existed back then? If you know something about that, write to us!). Then about three-four years ago I bought C64 and Lord bought C128 (WOW!) and then we found out about groups and scene, which was totally dedicated to cracking, back then there was no demos, only intros. So we learned machine language, and started to work in famous Monitor 49152, (Never in assembler!!!), made some lame intros, trained old games. We called ourselves MAGIC DUO and everything was going fine, but then in '89 Amiga became more than just imaginary computer owned by rich boys in foreign countries and we pressured our parents to buy us one and at last in August of '89 we got them. Boy, it was a thrill!!! First three months we just played games and stuff like that stunned by Miggy's capabilities. And then we began to explore it: CLI, Workbench, DOS weren't secrets any more and then we wanted to do some serious work and started to explore assemblers. Since we didn't have any literature, we had to learn from SK and MM. When SK did a series about MC68000 programming it really had me going. But we didn't succeed at first because it's really big jump in complexity from 6510 to 68000. But after several retries things started to roll. We changed our name to THE TWILIGHT ZONE and accepted some new members. At first we worked in DevPac, and then found MasterSeka. During summer of '90 we made our first intro which was really simple and nowdays I could do it in one afternoon. But it was fun doing it, really. Then we kicked out other members bcoz they just lamed around. After that we started to work on our first demo that we decided to call INTRODUCTION DEMO and it's still in production. It took us about six months to finish all the gfx and coding and we finally did it about a month ago. All it needs now is just to be put together but we still don't do that. Why? Because we are laaazy... But I guess we don't, because it doesn't have such a smashing code after all (in fact it has a really simple code). But we should finish it despite that and just move on. I suppose one of this days we will finally get it over with. By the time you are reading this it's probably released, so if you would like to laugh at our expense, contact us and we will send it to ya. Today THE TWILIGH ZONE is a group consisting of only two members: Lord and me (Dr.J). We're both coders and graphicians only Lord does more of gfx and I more of coding (so, as you see we're in need of new members, so feel free to apply, especially musicians). Interesting, ALL our members are coders, which other group can tell that, ha? We produce diskmag called THE OUTER LIMITS (bet you didn't know that!) together with our friends from VIKINGS and we do the demo disk series called DEMO COLLECTION (You really didn't know that, ha?). And that's about the whole story of THE TWILIGHT ZONE... We would like to know how you and your group got started, so please write to us and let the world know how you began. I think that this kind of article is very interesting, especially to begginers to find out how hard it is to become good, so go ahead, write that story!!!
