WHAT'S HAPPENING???


Here are some of my views about the scene that are going 'round my head lately. Have you had a look at demos that are being released these days? If you had then you were probably asking yourself the same question: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE SCENE??? 

Have you noticed that lately, from about 20 demos that you recieve, only one or two has something new in it. And in about a month, 20 new demos are released with that same "new" effect, maybe a little upgraded. In general, demos these days look like this: some vectors, plasma, big logo, vector stars, some bobs whirling aroud and that's it. Every one looks alike!!! Come on, people!!! Who needs that? What is the point of a demo if there isn't anything new in it? You wanna prove that you can do what the others have done 54232 times before you? That's stupid. Don't try to copy others, find something new, that's the way to do it!!! It's not so easy to think of something new, but that way your demos will be much better, people will respect you more and will even keep your demos in their collection. I'm so sick from all those imitations, it is so mega boooring... I usually see them once, go puke and then format the disk.

One problem is specific for the YU scene. There's so much ripping!!! Hey, guys, that's sooo fucking LAME!!! You can easily draw your own font or code a shitty routine. By ripping you can achieve two things for sure: first, people will notice and then you will be marked as a LAMER for the rest of your life and second, if the freak whose stuff you ripped finds out, war is immenent (It's not so nice to have enemies). I even noticed one thing that is apsolutely unbelieveably stupid: few groups in YU even stole complete demo!!! They just changed logo and scrolltext and even had courage to put their adress and phone number in it!!! YO,PEOPLE!!! That's dangerous! If they meet ya, you can be looking forward to loosing vital parts of your body, and as you know they can't be replaced!!! Imagine the rage of a guy who worked hard on a demo for a few months and then some shithead stole it in one afternoon!!! We're talking about serious MAYHEM here!!! I won't mention any names but, wize up!!! Before it's too late...

Some other thing is bugging me lately: INTROS ! It is fuckin' too much of them !!! Intros are OK to put on your packs or cracks (Hey,look a rhyme!!!
) we do it too, but to spread them alone is stupid. Nowdays every new pack that I recieve is 50% made of intros. Some of them even with text like: XXX presents game YYY... 
That's incredible!!! To take them off games and put in pack ? Unbelievable but people do it... Do you know that a good coder can make intro in a few hours? The routines are mainly taken from their demos and just put together with a logo at the top. What's the use of keeping that? If you don't have enuff of the new stuff (Again a rhyme. I'm getting good at this!!!
) to put on your packs then swap with someone and get it, don't put intros to fill the space... That way people will keep your packs forever. Don't release two disx filled with crap, instead of that release one with good stuff! Think of QUALITY, not of quantity!!!
