Well, first I have to say that we weren't completely sure that we would travel to Porsgrunn till just two days before the trip. We were waiting for your calls, but nobody contacted us (shame on you!). We already decided not to go, but then I got the letter from Morten Helgesen (from Violence) and everything changed! We prepared for trip in two days and finaly on the 26.6 we were on our way... Train from Split to Munich left at 11:05. After the long journey, on the high temperatures, we finaly came to Zagreb at about 19:20. We waited there for an hour and then train went to Ljubljana, Salzburg and at last we came to Munich. It was on the 27.6 at 6:13. The first train for Copenhagen was leaving at 10:45 so we had enough time to buy some things (disks, disks, disks...). First, we went to the booking office to make a reservations, but we were really nice suprised there! The train for Copenhagen (via Hamburg) was already booked! What could we do then? Should we stay whole day in Munich and miss the first day of the party? Well, we had no choice, so we reserved our seats in the train that leaves at 19:30 and also for the train to Oslo (from Copenhagen). The first thing we had to do was leaving our baggage in the safe and we lost about 12 DEM there (don't ask how!). After that procedure we had a whole day in front of us! We went to the famous Schiller strasse and there we bought 50 disks each. The rest of the day we spent on walking around and waiting for the train. Long awaited moment finaly approached and we continued our journey. The train for Copenhagen had very uncomfortable seats, so it was hard to fall asleep. We arrived to Copenhagen in the morning on the Friday, 28.6. Our plan was to come to the Porsgrunn on the noon, 28.6, but everything changed after we missed the first train to Hamburg! The train for Oslo was already on his track and we had only 20 minutes to find it. After the trip through the beautiful Sweden, we reached Oslo on the Friday evening. The train to Porsgrunn leaves every two hours and only two trains remained that day. We cached the first one and finaly reached our target:Porsgrunn! It was about midnight then and we were lucky, because we met some swedish guys (PHA, TSL) who shown us the way to the party place. At first, we wanted to stay on the afterparty party, but we didn't becouse we had no Amiga there (it's really pitty). On the Sunday afternoon, train (with us, inside) left to Oslo. We waited for 2 hours on the station and then took train to Copenhagen. We arrived there on Monday morning. We planed to go to the Munich then, but because of the closed Slovenian border, we changed our minds and decided to go to Prague. Why Prague? Because Misfit has a house in Prague and he was supposed to be there on Tuesday night. Since train from Copenhagen to Berlin (you must go via Berlin) leaves very late (22:30) and we arrived at 8:50, we found ourselves in the same situation as in Munich. First we bought some papers to find out what's going on down there in our homecoutry, and we went to the InterRail center to read papers and to eat something. Later on we took a walk down the city center, visited planetarium, rested in the park and watched some ducks... (Dr.J's remark: I have a photo of them, contact me for one!) And finaly we had a first good meal (if we don't count party)! It's unbelieveable how much money you can spend on food and still to be hungry. So, after a few hours of boredom, we left Copenhagen and went to Berlin. We knew that we were going to Berlin Lichtenberg, but we didn't know what that really means. The next day we found out the shocking truth. We were located almost in the heart of the East Berlin. You may say that East Berlin doesn't exist anymore, but if you were on our place, you would know what I mean. Shit, we were in the middle of nothing: nothing to eat, nowhere to rest, no english papers... But we stood somehow and finaly left that hell behind. I must admit that there is one positive thing in the east Berlin: CHEAP DISKS! So, we were going to Prague, at last. We arrived late in the evening (it was about 21:25) and called Misfit's place. His aunt told us that he hasn't arrived yet and that he was expected to come the next day in the evening (but that wasn't sure, because of the situation on borders). We tried to call our homes, but we couldn't get Split. What could we do in that situation? Well, we decided to go to Munich and to find Dr.J's relative (he never saw her before!). We didn't know that we can travel with InterRail throughout the whole Czechoslovakia (not just Berlin-Prague-Budapest), so we took train to Berlin (no, not again!). This time we wanted to come on the main station (in hope that it is in the west part of town). So, we took metro and finaly came there. We thought we are in the West Berlin, but cruel reality was completely different! Shit, that was East Berlin again! And we just promised to ourselves that we would never again, go to East Berlin. OK, so we waited and waited and finaly train felt pitty on us and came. I almost hated Berlin, but when I saw the west part I realized that it's really nice town. (If you want to find out where was the border, just look out for Trabants. If they are all around you, you are in the east part, and the opposite.) Allright, enough about Berlin. So, we were on our way to Munich. We came there at about 19 o'clock. We called home, but the lines for Split were busy again. We didn't talk with our families since Porsgrunn and we figured that they were really upset. Then we called Prague and got Misfit on the phone. Yeah, he's in Prague! We found out that the last train from Munich to Prague left some hours ago. We looked at our Eurail booklet and decided to go to Nurnberg. We arrived at 22:05. The next train to Prague was leaving at 00:25, so we had to wait. At last, we reached Prague at 6:22 where Misfit and his mother came to pick us up. (continues on the next article...)
