--------------------- 3]SUBMITTING MATERIAL 1]------------------- 3]WE NEED PROGRAMS 1] JUMPDISK is a paying market for programs, articles and, to lesser extent, art. We need more programs. We're not tied to Basic. Any language is welcome. We purchase one-time rights only, and authors retain all rights to their work,. Programs fetch from $25 to $250. Articles take away $25 to $100. Reviews get $25 to $50. Programs published as shareware by authors, or which have already appeared on PD disks before being submitted to us, get $50. Art screens pay $10 each, or $50 if used as a JUMPDISK title screen. Short tips used in the TIPS column are paid at $5 to $10 each. ALL SUBMITTED MATERIAL MUST BE THE ORIGINAL WORK OF THE PERSON WHO SUBMITS IT. 3]WHAT WE WANT IS WHAT YOU GOT 1] We can use programs in any language that works on the Amiga. We publish an eclectic mix of programs and articles. Though good games are welcome, we could use more serious programs. If submitted work has already appeared elsewhere, it's best you let us know. If it's great and original work, we'll pay a premium. Please use 80 columns to format your text and write your programs, but be free to open windows that use large 40-character text and graphics; they work. Programs should have icons. Include full instructions on how your program runs. If these are not within the program itself, they must be in the form of documentation that is on a disk as a single ASCII file. We prefer that Basic programs work in both Amiga Basic 1.1 and 1.2. Let us know if your program makes any special library call, loads material from files, or requires Workbench 1.2. We prefer that on ending, a program break back to the Workbench screen. If you don't know how to do this, we will work it in for you. Put all needed files of a program within a single drawer. Art screens should have icons. Articles are required on an ASCII disk file in TEXT 80. We prefer text formatted in TEXT 80 via the CLI ED. Working with most other word processor formats means we have to reformat the text, a tedious task. If you do use a word processor, we can handle it. However, don't cram the text with gingerbread code that boldfaces, underlines and the like. We just have to spend extra time taking it out, all the while with a lessening of the initial enchantment your work instilled in us. Print out hard copy of both program listings and articles -- unless you have no printer. Label disks carefully and completely. We can't access your work unless you tell us program and file names and how to find them. If your opus requires transfer to another disk, include clear and precise step-by-step instructions of how it is done. In fact, be lucid to the point of presuming JUMPDISK editors are extremely stupid. We will reject even good material if it is presented in the form of a puzzle. Include a brief letter describing the nature of your submission. If you prefer, send us a query letter first. Always enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope that is roomy enough to contain your entire submission. The postage should be affixed. It should be in the form of stamps, not postage meter labels. There should be sufficient postage affixed to ensure return of your material. If you live beyond the U.S., include international reply coupons for return of material. Send submissions to: JUMPDISK SUBMISSIONS 1493 Mt. View Ave. Chico, CA 95926 It can take us more than two months to give you the decision. Why so long? When we put together an issue, we consider everything we have, then make selections for that month. Everything else waits until the next month. 3]WHAT'S HOT AND NOT 1] We're overstocked with games and graphics demos, but if that's what you have, send it if it's good. More utility programs. More activities that involve the user. More programs that use art as an integral part of the activity. More music, maestro! 3]END OF TEXT
