NOTE: Andrew is doing a lot of hacking up there with his friends, such as a KickStart disk modified to handle an overscan screen from bootup, which I use all the time to get about 15% more space on screen. Anyone interested can get it as a Theme Disk, or contact Andrew through us here. A lot has been happening in Queensland lately , and many wonderful things have appeared . A great little program called " AutoKick " written by Paul Coward , alias " DIGISOFT " has been released as ShareWare . It allows you to set any 8 point font that you wish on the KickStart , auto-config Fast ram , setting steprate , no drive click and auto-config clock as well as installing a virus inhibit strap routine (Strap is the part of the KickStart that handles the Workbench prompt) that will not let you boot a disk with one of the four viruses that are out currently . For more information contact :- DIGISOFT 12 Dinmore St. Moorooka Brisbane 4105 Phone (07) 277-3255 The ultimate in DisAssemblers is about to be released as ShareWare . It will produce fully commented assembly source code . It can disassemble from either ram or a disk file . I have seen the source generated by this program it can handle anything that is thrown at it . I have seen the new byte bandit virus disassembled and found a way to return you to normal operation and disable the virus . The way you do it is to hold down ( All together ) Left ALT , Left Amiga , Space , Right Amiga and Right ALT . This will only work when the virus takes over . The disassembler will be released as several different versions , ranging from primitive to fully blown with Assembly source code . In my opinion , it will be well worth its money , for instance , disassembling a buggy shareware program and fixing the bug . I will definitely be purchasing this program and suggest that if you are serious about programming to also purchase it . The address will be coming shortly , as the program is still having the finishing touches done to it . A Commodore 64 Guru has just graduated to the Amiga World , and his very first program that he has written is a F-14 Tomcat flight simulator . It is unbelievably fast and is the best I have seen around . It leaves JET for dead . To be released very shortly . How would you like a Digi-View video digitizer for $130 plus postage ? Shocked ? Well don't be . A respectable electronics genius up here has designed his own , and it is fully compatible with Digi-View software and surpasses the real digi-view by straightening out the "Jaggies" that most digitizers produce . If you are a harware pirate , then tough luck ! The design that he has incorporated into it has been fully tested to be COPY PROOF . Have you heard about the new 1.3 KickStart ? Are you anxious to get it ? Don't be . I have heard pretty strong rumors that a person with a DisAssembler has disassembled the KickStart and has fully commented it and will be releasing it with a new preferences program . The new 1.3 KickStart is supposed to have an auto-configuring hard drive operating system , but to take advantage of this , you will have to buy a special $1200 controller for the hard disk , and even then you would only be able to use 20 tracks for boot up . When we recieve a new KickStart and HD controller we will be trying to change this , so don't rush out and buy the controller for a while , O.K ? For all you Victorian users , the Melbourne CCUG membership was up around the 1300 mark , and of that 700-800 attended each meeting . It is also rumored that it is so large that it is uncontrollable . Are you a hard disk user and tired of having to limit the length of pathnames to 80 characters or so ? The soon to be released hard disk utility will be able to handle an unlimited pathname . It is currently in its BETA test stage and will be released commercially in the next month or so . Peter Norman , the genius who wrote Aegis AudioMaster is now busy writing a new AudioMaster . It will have many more editing features and also the option of saving directly to disk , be it floppy , hard , ram or virtual . How would you like to store 1024 K on a disk instead of 880 ? That is what I am currently working on . This patch should be ready for the next MegaDisc . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~END OF RUMORS IN THE SUNSHINE STATE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
