To all Active Contributors to ACC Disks
                 ---------------------------------------

Iv'e just been browsing through ACC 17 and noted the comment in Simon
Windmills' letter ref. ".....only ten people reading" and "....send
SOMETHING in". (As I am also currently printing out The Encyclopedia
Britannica, aka the Dave Edwards 'typed_68000.doc', there is ample time to
write a really looooong letter!!)
This letter is a response to MasterBeats' two comments above.

I believe there must be MANY more people using the disks and that most of 
them are, like me, eager readers but non-contributors.......... maybe Ray
Amiganuts or Mark Meany will tell us how many ACC disks are sold each month?

So, who is your typical non-contributor? I cannot speak for others, but a
few personal facts about myself may help to portray at least one of us:

Origins:  Gods Country (Worcs), but trapped in Lincolnshire by marriage.

Age:  the wrong side of 52 (was that soft thump the sound of Raislins'
Teddy hitting the floor?).

Profession: RAF (soon to be medically Retired).

Family:  Two children, five grandchildren (damned expensive at Xmas-time).

Interests:  Toyota cars, gardening and Amigas; not necessarily in that 
order.

Amiga-equipment:  A500 1.3, 3 Meg of Ram, second Drive, A590 Hard-drive,
LC-10 Colour. Soon to be replaced by a A1500, WBench 2.0, plus a better
Printer. No, I'm not a Rich Bastard - it's suprising what you can get
if you set your heart on it. Incidentally, how many of the source files
on the ACC disks are going to be happy on WBench 2.0, and are you all 
about to swop those 1.3 A500s' for the new A500P ??

Sports:  BBC1 and 2. Speaking of football, Raislin, did you know that
Worcester County Cricket Club has the flattest Ground in England - Source:
Pears Cyclopedia, 1955 Edition.

Heroes:  Nigel Mansell and Mark Meany (just how does he manage two jobs,
two youngsters, no sleep and still manage to outpour all this ACC stuff??)

ACC:  Avid follower of since the Beginning, plus correspondence with M.M.
and once with Mike Cross (to whom I forgot to enclose a stamp, but still got
a nice letter and a diskful of Source back - thanks Mike).


What do I actually DO with the ACC disks, then?

Upon excited receipt, the first task is to find out what Menu system M.M. has
used THIS month! Then a nice Decrunch all round - usually; Disk 16, for
instance, not only refused to decrunch to disks 1 and 2 (No 3 decrunched OK)
but also produced a veritable Krakatoa of Gurus every time, which
neccessatated hand-DirDecrunching of the files. Painsville.

A read of the Letters, followed by a printout of all the Tutorials docs 
for bedtime reading. Next, into Devpac to try out all this months'
offerings. 

Total personal productivity to date only consists of rehashing/rewriting 
various source-files taken from the disks, but there is immense satisfaction
to be had when the product of adding THIS bit of Blaines code to THAT bit of
Raistlins code, all added to Marks programme, produces a lump of source that
actually Assembles into something I can more or less call my own! All in all,
one disk usually keeps me happily crouched over the keyboard for a couple of
weeks. However, I have yet to get up the courage to submit one of these
mishmashes to M.M. Oneday, perhaps. Until then, I'm more than happy with what
the disks offer me each month.

(FLASH-FLASH-FLASH : typed_68000.doc has just stopped printing....it's either
finished, or the printer has blown its chip in protest.)

In the meantime, it's been satisfying to watch the progress you are all
making over the months as you learn more and more (hence, hopefully, so have
I.), translated into better source gracing the disks each succeeding month.
