Mike Cross 34 East Avenue Rudheath Northwich Cheshire CW9 7JE Tel : 0606 45953 Hi all. Mike Cross here writting to the world. Today is 24 Jan 91 and it will probably be the end of February before you are reading this. I would like very much to hear any comments anybody has to make about the ACC Xtras disk I put together in January. I know it was late, there were three reasons :- 1. My unsociable working hours (night shifts) 2. My taking a week off from coding to learn C, (Boo Hiss!) 3. I posted the disk to Mark on about the 8th Jan, but he never receiced it, (Bloody Post Office), I sent it again on 23rd Jan recorded delivery, (taking no chances!) If you liked the disk and would like to see another one in the future write in and let us know. The Xtras disk will NOT be monthly as I do not have enough material to submit. Maybe bi-monthly would be more appropriate. I have just been browsing through the old Devpac V1.2 manual, and I found a rather amusing comment. In the section describing the library include files they have documented all of the supplied disk files. Their comments on the clist.library are :- `This is the character list handling library. To be honest we`ve never seen any documentation on it so have no idea what use it is.' - and to think, these are the guys that wrote the best assembler ever! Next, a quick appology to the wonderfully talented Steve Marshall. I must appologise for my unruley behaviour and totally un-necessary moaning and criticism of you a couple of months ago. I was going through a `bad time' then, and I was constantly depressed, I am fine now though, even if I have just lost my job and I am now one of Major`s millions. Now onto other coder disk mags (again!) I have just recieved a compact disk of the first four issues of CSM magazine. This pathetic attempt at a disk mag is absolute crap. I have seen some boaring magazine articles in my time, and I have seen some massive egos - but these guys are the worst ever. The only decent piece on the 4 issues is an article on optimising code by the very talented Lawrences Ve!@#!?% (long Belgium name!) Who the hell wants to read about `How to knick a lamp post' or `How to Phuck your friends?' - This is pure rubbish - Next! If anybody would like to buy any of the following pieces of software, give me a ring or write to me. (I am desperate for cash!) AMOS - £22.00 Powermonger - £12.00 Future Wars - £8.00 All of the software is genuine and in excellent condition. Now - to the game. If you do not already know, I am attempting to write a game especially for ACC. My aim is to have a fully playable game finished before my twenty first birthday in June. (I have just over four months!) I have no idea what type of game it shall be yet. I currently have another person interested in helping with the project, and I shall be writting to another fairly soon who also may be able to help. I need a good graphic artist to design some graphics for the game. Today I have written a smooth background map scroller. I am hoping to have the graphics in a dual playfield parallax scroll. Finally a few messages. Dave Shaw - Thanks for pointing out the problem, it is being dealt with. If you are a competent coder - write to me! I could do with some new contacts. Okay, time to go.
