      This disk contains printer drivers obtained from Commodore-Amiga.
 They are now  release of Workbench 1.3.  This means that at the time of
 this import the release printer drivers and the printer.device are on this
 Shakespeare disk ready to print.  If more printer drivers are released
 of Workbench 1.3, please use those drivers instead. 

      There have been a few improvements to Shakespeare since the manual was
 printed. This file details those changes. 
 
      Several new menu items have been added to Shakespeare. 
      
      Under the project menu heading you will find a new submenu item at the
 bottom: Workbench Open/Close. This menu item lets you close Workbench from
 Shakespeare, releasing approximately an additional 40K of chip RAM for use
 by Shakespeare.  You can reopen Workbench from the menu or it will
 automatically reopen when you exit Shakespeare. 
 
      A new palette option has been added to the Change Palette menu - Menus.
 You can now set the menu colors to whatever color combinations you prefer. 
 
      The screen scaling of the rulers is linked to the DPI setting used in
 the Page Preferences requester. The rulers will reflect the DPI setting by
 showing the amount of image that will occupy an inch when printed on the
 page. 
 
      There is an error on page 77 in the tutorial on colored borders.
 Before you click on the "USE" gadget you must click on the Border ON gadget
 in the upper right corner of the Active Frame Preferences requester. 
 
      Shakespeare now allows you to change the default parameters with which
 it boots up by setting the TOOLTYPES in the icon.  Single click on the
 Shakespeare icon and select INFO from the Workbench menu. The commands must
 be all in capitals and are as follows:
 
  1) RESOLUTION=(HIRES|LORES|INTERLACE|MEDRES)
 
         Change the boot-up resolution where:
 
     HIRES     = 640x400
     LORES     = 320x200
     MEDRES    = 640x200
     INTERLACE = 320x400
 
         Example:
         RESOLUTION=MEDRES
 
  2) DEPTH=(1|2|3|4|5)
 
         Change the depth (# of colors) of the initial screen where:
 
     1 = 2 colors
     2 = 4  "  "
     3 = 8  "  "
     4 = 16 "  "
     5 = 32 "  "
 
         Note that no more than 16 colors are allowed in MEDRES & HIRES.
 
         Example:
         DEPTH=3
 
 3)      UNITS=(INCHES|PICAS)
 
         Change the default measurement system.
 
         Example:
         UNITS=PICAS
 
 4)      RULERS=(ON|OFF)
 
         Change whether or not rulers appear on the screen.
 
         Example:
         RULERS=ON
 
 5)      BORDERS=(ON|OFF)
 
         Change whether or not frame borders are initially shown on screen.
 
         Example:
         BORDERS=OFF
 
      If a parameter is not specified, the program uses the default setting
 for that parameter. The default setting is:
 
    RESOLUTION=HIRES
    DEPTH=4
    UNITS=INCHES
    RULERS=ON
    BORDERS=ON
 
      These parameters are only supported when Shakespeare is run from the
 Workbench, and may not be used when running Shakespeare from the CLI. 
 
      If you create an issue for a printer that has a high DPI (ie 240) and
 then try to print that issue on a printer that has a low DPI, you may find
 that the only print method available to you is Print To Fit since printing
 1:1 or 1:2 may result in attempting to print more pixels in a line than your
 printer is capable of. 
 
      You can run the Postscript printer driver Shake_PSPrint from the CLI.
To do so you would type: Shake_PSPrint filename. There are also several
options you may use:
 
      *Ooutputfilename - Creates a Postscript output file on disk.
      *NXX - Where XX is the number of copies of the issue printed.
      *BXX - Where XX is the beginning page number.
      *EXX - Where XX is the ending page number.
 
      You would not use the *O and *N options together as this would just
 create duplicate copies of the output file. If you do not specify the
 beginning or ending pages the entire issue is printed. A single space must
 be typed between each option, for example:
 
      Shake_PSPrint filename *N3 *B1 *E5
 
      This would print filename three times starting with page #1 and ending
 with page #5. 
 
     Problems with this release:
     
     If you start Shakespeare from the Workbench you may find that you
 can't print PostScript from within the program.  If this happens to you,
 try saving the issue and running the program Shake_PSPrint outside of
 Shakespeare to print your Issue.
