SUPERPIC REV 1.9x This note relates to issues of the SuperPic software carrying revision numbers less than 2.0 1. All Rev 1.9x versions have been released in response to urgent requests for product, ahead of full release. We hope that everyone was told that this was the case and will not judge us too harshly for any bugs and shortfalls in the software and the absence of a final manual. 2. Please write at once to JCL Business Systems at the address below and register that you have a 1.9x release. If possible provide a copy of the sales receipt and an address label. In the meanwhile we hope the following notes are of help. 4. You need 1 Meg of RAM in your Amiga. (Later revisions will work with less, up to a point.) More.... Starting up........... WITH THE POWER OFF !!!!! (Naturally...) To get to know your SuperPic start of in colour, non-genlock mode - both press switches IN. Put all pots vertical and the Monitor Switch to Amiga CONNECT THE.... Short ribbon cable to the Amiga video out Long ribbon cable to the Amiga parallel port A video source to the Video Input socket The power transformer to the 15 volt AC input Mains to the transformer Apply power to the TV source and then to SuperPic Apply power to the rest of the system Put the software disk in DF0: and the system should boot Put the monitor switch to Video and check that a picture appears, then put the monitor switch to framestore and adjust the contrast etc controls to give the best picture. Resist the temptation to over saturate the colour - experiment for a while. More..... Experiment with the Screen Format menu. Your software should default to Waste lines = 23 Picture height = 200 Samples per line = 393 Window left = 62 Window width = 320 Hi-res = OFF Interlace = OFF Mode = colour Colour = HAM+ If any of these values are different then set them up... just for now The `Z` key freeZes the picture The `I` key Imports the picture from the framestore into the Amiga converting it into the format selected on the Screen Format menu which is under PROJECTS SAVE and LOAD are also on the PROJECTS menu and conform to normal style. Ignore SLOTS unless you have stacks of memory! More...... To use the genlock you MUST power up SuperPic FIRST with AN ACTIVE video source then power up the AMIGA - other way round or togther will not work! The composite video output shows Amiga overlay on top of the incoming video. The RGB output is the same. You are bound to try Importing a picture when in genlock mode... and you will wonder how to see the TV again without the imported picture.... The `C` key clears the imported picture from the screen, and puts it back when `C` is pressed again. The picture remains in a buffer and is not lost. A poor video source will show picture wobble, some very cheap VCRs are quite bad. More..... Please excuse the shortness of these notes. We are doing our best to get the release disk and manual to you promptly You may receive a draft manual with this release..... The pictures on the disk are all 200 lines high so that they can be shown on an NTSC system - PAL SuperPics would have these pictures 256 lines high.
