PREMISE OF THE SHOW: On October 16, 1997, Alpha Control launches the Jupiter 2 on the first colonization flight to the Alpha Centauri star system. Since the trip will take five and a half years to complete, the Robinson family and their pilot, Major Don West, are frozen into a state of suspended animation. Unknown to Alpha Control or the Robinsons, Dr, Zachary Smith, an agent of an enemy power, has programed the ship's Robot to destroy several of the jupiter's key life support systems exactly eight hours after launch. Unfortunately, Smith's last minute sabotaging traps him on board after the hatch closes, launching him into space with the Robinson's. INFO: Allen's second series "Lost in Space", out of his 4 networked series, is easily the show with the most fanatical following and to this day convention's and meeting's are still held all over the world in it's honour. To be sure, the show was a good one, particually during the first season, which ranked with some of the most exciting Sci-Fi ever seen on the small screen. But during the second and third season the show gradually started running down hill, particually because the Dr. Smith charachter began to run the whole show and none of the other actors hardly got a look-in. But even so, the first series black and white shows included some spectacular episodes, especially the episode " The Hungry Sea ". All in all though "Lost in Space" was "Irwin Allen" at his best, and is undoutably one of the most fondestly remembered series ever. -------------------------------------------------------------- EPISODES: FIRST SEASON: 1965-1966 ------------------------------------------------------------- 1) THE RELUCTANT STOWAWAY ----------------------------- Writer: Shimon Wincelberg.
