PARTYTIME! ---------- It's partytime again, all readers! The event will take place this summer, from the 10th to the 12th of July. Official start time: 1300 hours. End: 1500 on the following Sunday. Before we start, note that this is an updated version of the Zine article. Some extra information has been added. The party will be held in Mandal, on the southern tip of Norway. Mandal is a nice little town, with a population of about 12000 people. We have the biggest beach in Norway, about 800 m long. The town is the place with most sunny days per year in Norway, so in other words, it's a nice place to spend the summer holidays. Bring your spades & buckets & bathing rings! At this party the prizes will be atleast 50% of everything we will earn, including all sponsoring. (Please note that 50 % is the minimum, and the more people and sponsors we get, the higher the prices will be... More information on this in the Information & Invitation Brochure.) I here have, as Tom Lehrer put it, a modest example... Let's say about 600 people attend to the party. 600 people x 20 dollars equals 12000 dollars. Divide it by two and you get 6000 bucks. And that will be the prize if only 600 people show up!! If 1500 people attend to the party (probably the maximum amount of people we can cram into the two halls), the prizes will be 15,000 dollars, 95,000 Norwegian Kroner, 25,000 Deutsche Mark, 8,500 British Pounds or 68,000 Finnish Marks! (If you want to know, 2,000,000 yen...) Fantastic prices? ----------------- The entrance fee will be 20 dollars, 120 NOK, 30 DM, 10 Pounds, 80 Finnish Marks. Please note: We do NOT take foreign currencies. Please pay with 120 NOK. 24h PartyChannel ---------------- For the duration of the party we'll air a special UHF 'PartyChannel' on which will broadcast the demo-competition and the graphics-competition. We'll also show various Monty Python-films, amongst others. So, bring your videos and TV-tuners, everyone! 24h Guard-service ----------------- To make sure that nothing gets stolen, we'll have guards patrolling the area 24h a day.(Don't worry, no police involved!) If you notice that any of your possesions are missing, then contact us immediately, and we'll try to do something about it. This we found very useful at the IMP-666 and Razor 1911 party, where one of our members lost his A590 HD and nobody did anything... THANKS A LOT, P A L S !!! 24h cafeteria ------------- There will be a 24h cafeteria in the hall, where you can purchase your daily disks, hamburgers, pizzas, hot-dogs, cokes and sandwiches. 24h telephone guard ------------------- If you have any problems with finding us, we will have a 24h telephone guard who can direct you to the party. 24h Monty Python Film Festival! ------------------------------- On the party we'll have a 24h Film Festival on which we'll show everything by Monty Python we can get our hands on. (Some of these will be shown on the PartyChannel...) Signing ------- There will be large signs along the road, to show you the way in case you get lost. The signs will not be like those on other parties; small and impossible to spot from a car. A guarded room -------------- There will be a guarded room for your disposal where you can deposit your valuable possesions. We advice you to make use of this option as we have yet to see a party without thefts of some kind. NO Police... ------------ The party will NOT be visited by any means of police. Have you ever seen the Norwegian Federation Against Software Theft? Neither have we!! PartyVideo! ----------- We'll have hired some guys from a Professional Video Club nearby to record the event. You can buy the video after the party. The video will be made entirely on AMIGA with the help of Scala & VideoDirector. Quality Sound ------------- We've got some real ear-pleasing audio equipment. We've hired Norway's Hi-Fi Club to provide us with and set up the stereo system. For those of you who haven't heard of this club, it is a club which only have quality stereo systems, like Denon, NAD and loudspeakers like Cerwin-Vega, Celestion and so on. (You have the same organization in Denmark, Danmarks Hi-Fi Klub.) Miscellaneous ------------- There is a bowling hall and some snooker tables in the same building which you can use from 1100-2400. When you enter the party you will get a ticket which will give you special discounts on bowling and snooker. You also get free admittance to the disco that is located in the same building. Sjosanden, Norways biggest beach (about 800 m wide), is just some 600 m away. The nearest shop is only 150 m away. There are plenty of showers and toilets available. There is a tennis court 50 m away, and a stadium with 3 football pitches and 3 tennis courts 800 m away. In addition there are two gravel pitches right outside the hall. If necessary we'll make make use of a school to fit all the people. And please note: Smoking will not be allowed inside the hall! Bad news? --------- And now, some bad news. The group that will be arranging the party is Symbiosis. We know that we are not the coolest democrew on Amiga, but please don't prejudice us! Give us the benefit of the doubt! We can't promise you "The party of a millenium", but we will surely give you "The party of the summer"! We're sure that we can make this party worthy of your precious time.
