~C03\\Here you'll find a couple of true news, spread by Commodore. Hope you'll find some kind of interest in these I found for this issue.



~C01.\The new chipset AAA is on its way. It actually works at 95 per 100, some bugs still have to be removed. DSP will be integrated in the AAA chipset. It'll be a DSP 3210 ATT. The first AAA Amiga, will be based on a Motorola 68060 microprocessor. Risc models will come out later, and Commodore still hasn't chosen between the Power PC, Alpha DEC and Risc HP.

~C03.\Commodore has revealed his goal for the AAA chipset. They wanna make a 3D work station. They expect to handle up to 30 million pixels per second, and components should be integrated for 3D realtime calculations.

~C01.\Rumour is going on but Commodore has to denie it, the A1400 does not, and will never exist.

~C03.\Commodore just got from Philips, the license for the PhotoCD. Commodore can mention that the CD32 is ''PhotoCD compatible'', but they are not allowed write that it's ''Kodak PhotoCD compatible''. Business is business my friend.

~C01.\Commodore has chosen the PCI bus (this one is becoming a standard in the PC compatible world) for the AAA machines. This will enable the use of PCI extensions on Amiga. Zorro III bus won't be forgotten. There will be a solution combining Zorro III and ISA bus, this way PCI will only replace the ISA bus of the Amigas.

~C03.\Philips released a new version of its FMV for CD-I in order to be compatible with standard defined in July by seven big companies (Matsushita, JVC, Paramount, Warner, Sony, Philips, Commodore). In fact the previous Philips' FMV model wasn't compatible with the edicted standard. Standard is now defined, and will be respected by the seven companies.

~C01.\Zorro III extension memory cards, are slower than the memory which can be found on a A3000 motherboard. This does not come from the Z3 bus itself, but its due to Buster (the transmettor). A K version of Buster, accelerates the memory access on the Z3 bus. It's not necessary to fill all the memory slots on the motherboard to use a Z3 memory extension.
