Another Cross-Stitch Master?

Well, as I must have said a million times before, for various
reasons, Amigas and printer drivers are funny things.
The standard version of X-S-M works fine on Star, Citizen, Canon,
Amstrad and lots more printers, but funny things happen with those
made by Commodore. They print slowly. Verrrrry Sllooooowly.
   This is my fault, due to the way I wrote the output routines, but
when I was told about the problem and tried to fix it, something
which should have worked just would not do what it was told. (I won't
go into the details - trust me, it did not do what the manuals said
it should.)
   So, I wrote a special version for our two customers who owned
Commodore printers. This is version 3.5e, and it's in the 'Special'
folder on your master disc.

   This version DOES NOT USE Amiga printer drivers AT ALL. It is
designed to work on Epson printers, which use the following
conventions:
   1/8 line spacing = (ESC) 0
   Carriage return AND linefeed required at each end of line
   Graphics data = (ESC) K n1 n2

ONLY try this version if you suffer the slow print problem with the
standard version.

   If any of the above 'escape sequences' is not valid
   for your printer, the following things will be apparent:

   Line spacing : you may see a thin white gap at the bottom of each
                  symbol.
   Carriage return: You may get double line spacing.
   Graphics data : Will not be a problem.

If you want to use this 'special' version, and suffer any of the
above problems, please let us know. We are more than happy to tweak
it to suit your specific printer. Your satisfaction is our priority!

To use this version:
Back up (duplicate) your disc FIRST.
Switch on the Amiga with the copied disc in the floppy disc drive.
Wait until the Workbench appears.
Click twice on the disc icon, to open it.
Click once on the X-Stitch-Master_3.5 icon.
Press the right mouse button to get the workbench menu.
Select DISCARD from the menus, and thus delete the standard program.
Click twice on the SPECIAL drawer icon.
Click once on the X-Stitch-Master_3.5e icon, and WHILE HOLDING THE
MOUSE BUTTON DOWN, 'drag' the icon out to the spot where the deleted
iocn was.
After a short while, the program will have been copied over, and you
can then use it instead of the original.
