AMIGA Plus Disk Instructions
 If this is your original disk that came with AMIGA Plus,
           PLEASE MAKE A COPY IMMEDIATELY!

    You will be able to print this file (Disk7.doc) after you exit this
    text display program.  Look at the bottom of this window for
    instructions on moving through the display.  This "Instructions" scroll
    can also be used to view and print any other text file.  Just click the
    instructions icon, hold the shift key, and double-click on the text file.

    Many programs on this disk can be run by just double-clicking on their
    icons from the Workbench.  Some larger programs or their supporting
    materials are compressed on this disk, so they must be decompressed
    onto another disk before they can be used.  Others may require
    special installation.  We have provided automatic scripts which should
    make these processes extremely simple for most users.  However, these
    point-and-click scripts require certain standard commands, which must
    be present in your C: directory (e.g. ASK). The scripts are also
    designed to be as merciful as possible to single-drive owners, copying
    most commands to RAM: before proceeding.

    It's easy to decompress any of the compacted files on this disk.
    You will be prompted for specific choices. If you have an extra
    floppy drive, or a hard disk, click once on the DecompressFiles
    icon, hold down the shift key, and double-click on the destination disk
    or drawer. A single floppy CANNOT hold all the decompressed files.  If
    you just double-click on the DecompressFiles icon when you have some
    blank disks ready, the script will extract the compressed files you
    chose to RAM:, then copy those files to your floppy disk.

AMIGA Plus disk #7 contains:

Bars&Pipes Demo -- A Hot demo of Blue Ribbon Bakery's new MIDI
     sequencer and music composition tool box.  It is in compressed form.
     Double-click on the DecompressFiles icon and follow the prompts.  This
     software uses A LOT of RAM and requires at least 1 Meg to run.  An
     additional instructions file (B&PDemo.doc) and the C language source
     code for the AMIGA Plus exclusive Apreggi-8 tool will also be
     reconstituted.  To read the instructions for Bars&Pipes, just
     double-click on the B&PDemo.doc icon inside your (decompressed)
     B&PDemo drawer.

Baffle  --  An addictive word game from KasTech.  Just double-click
     on the Baffle icon in the Baffle drawer.  To play, select "Play Game"
     from the menu, then type in all the words you can build from connected
     letters.  This program looks for the Diamond 20 font found on the
     standard Workbench disk.  To copy the game to another disk, drag the
     drawer over.  The AddWords, RemoveWords, and UpDateDict utilities allow
     you to modify Baffle's dictionary.  Be sure to check the specific
     instructions in the magazine BEFORE trying to alter the dictionary.

BindStartups  --  Mark Lanoux' Workbench utility manager lets you
     run your favorite utilities automatically on booting, simply by
     dragging them into a Startups drawer on your boot disk.  Your
     S:startup-sequence script only needs to be modified once, to add
     the BindStartups command sometime after the LoadWB command and sometime
     before EndCLI (if it's there).  If you have about 35K free on your boot
     disk (or hard drive partition), the InstallStartup script will create a
     Startups drawer on your boot disk (SYS:) and copy the BindStartups
     command onto your SYS:C directory, and copy arp.library to SYS:LIBS if
     it's not there already.  Since the script uses SYS: as the name for
     your target boot disk, you can ASSIGN SYS: to another disk, and have
     BindStartups installed on a copy of your Workbench disk.  Both the
     article and the installation script give you instructions on positioning
     the BindStartups command in your S:startup-sequence.

1989 Phasar Tax Forms -- If you own the home accounting software
     PHA$AR 3.0 (on AMIGA Plus Disk #6), you can calculate your 1989
     federal taxes and print the forms automatically.  Seven tax form
     templates, a summary form and payment tables will be decompressed by the
     DecompressFiles script. You MUST copy PHASAR.tax to a disk with PHA$AR
     3.0 to use these forms.

IFF2Script -- Convert IFF bitmaps to Sculpt 3D/4D script files with
     this program by Eric Cosky.  Click on an IFF picture icon then hold the
     SHIFT key and double-click on the IFF2Script icon.  This will create a
     .script file for Sculpt in the same directory as the picture, and with
     ".script" appended to the name.  If you like, you can set the picture
     icon's tooltypes to toggle vertical and horizontal merging, as
     dewscribed in the magazine article.  Just add NOMERGE=Horizontal (or
     Vertical or Both) to the picture icon's tooltypes.  To use this program
     from the CLI type:
         IFF2Script [-v|h] <iffname> [<script name>]
     When run from the CLI, this program will tell you when it's finished.
     From the Workbench, IFF2Script will flash the screen once when it
     begins to work and again when it's done.  Loading the script in Sculpt
     can take a long time and while Sculpt is executing the script, it gives
     no indication that it is busy... so be patient. C Language source code
     for IFF2Script is on disk in compressed form.


IFF2C -- Eric Cosky's IFF2C will turn your IFF pictures and brushes
     into C language bitmap and rastport structure declarations, for use in
     your own C programs.  IFF2C is run from the CLI with the syntax:
         IFF2C <codename> <iffname> [ <iffname> <iffname> ... ]  A
     small example program, IFF2CDemo, is included with source code.
     Double-click on the demo's icon to run it, and click on the close gadget
     (even if you "erased" it) to exit.  Since this program uses the picture
     filename you enter as a C variable name, you should avoid using IFF
     files with special characters in the name (!&.-:^ etc.) or rename
     them before running IFF2C.  The source code is compressed and can be
     retreived using the DecompressFiles script.

ABC -- Dan Wolf's AmiBarCode bar code printer and assembly language
     programming example.  From the CLI type:
         AMIGAPlus7:ABC [string]
     to display the bar code in a small window, then click the close gadget
     to print the bar code.  The string can contain only characters from the
     list of 43 uppercase alpha-numeric characters in the magazine article.
     Assembler source code (ABC.asm) is also on disk in compressed form.

ProDraw Clip-Art -- This clip-art by Mark Koulian accompanies his
     article on using Professional Draw.  You will need Gold Disk's ProDraw
     or Professional Page to view the three pictures FOLK-ORNAMENT, GUITAR,
     and HOCKEY. To reconstitute these files, double-click on the
     DecompressFiles icons and follow the prompts.

ListAll -- An AmigaDOS script file by Arnie Cachelin which lists
     all the files on a disk or in a directory, going through all the levels
     of sub-directories.  Click on it, then hold down the SHIFT key and
     double-click on a disk or drawer to list its contents.  Or, just
     double-click the ListAll icon to list everything in a drawer it's in.

     Other scripts without icons are DoToDir, DoToAll, and Find.
     These scripts are very useful for CLI users, but will have problems with
     directories with too many spaces embedded in the name, or when T: is
     full or assigned to a floppy you want to switch out.  Those of you
     who are still using Workbench 1.2 will have NO success with any of
     these scripts.  The syntax and use of these scripts is:

    DoToDir USAGE: [EXECUTE] DoToDir programname [[dir] [opt1] [opt2]]

      The above script runs a given program with every file in the given
      directory.  If no directory is given, then the current directory is
      used.  The program is run with command line options if they are
      supplied. This is useful when you want to run a program with a constant
      option, like "Print -draft" or "COPY to backup:"

    DoToAll USAGE: [EXECUTE] DoToAll programname [dir]

      Operates identically to DoToDir (above) except that it uses recursion
      to travel down to every file in every nested sub-directory in the
      given directory.  To specify command line options, enclose then in
      quotes with the program name.

    ListAll USAGE: [EXECUTE] ListAll [dir]

      Lists all files in the given directory and all its levels of
      sub-directories.  While the DIR ALL command has the same function,
      this script provides a flexible display format for its output, and
      can be used as the basis for more sophisticated scripts (like DoToAll
      and Find).  ListAll can also be used from the Workbench by clicking
      its icon, holding down the shift key, and double-clicking the drawer
      or disk you want to list.  If no directory is given, it uses the
      current drawer.

    Find USAGE: [EXECUTE] Find filename|pattern [dir]

      Finds and lists the file given (or any files which match the pattern)
      anywhere in the directory given.

VirusX 4.0 -- The latest version of Steve Tibbett's redistributable
     Virus checker.  This utility is ready to be dragged into the Startups
     drawer for use with BindStartups (on this disk). Instructions, along
     with an accessory virus killer (KV) and source code are in compressed
     form.  Again, double-click on the DecompressFiles icon and follow the
     prompts.

LHArc 1.0 -- Paolo Zibetti's redistributable file compression program, lharc
     achieves greater compression ratios than Zoo or Arc at the expense of
     slower decompression.  The compressed file BARP.lzh on this disk will
     expand to more than a disk's worth of files, with directories intact.
     Documentation for LHArc is compressed and can be accessed by using the
     DecompressFiles script.


   The entire disk has been processed with Blitz A Disk (B.A.D.) from M.V.
   Micro (distributed by Centaur Software Inc.) in order to speed up disk
   access. The format is the same as all AmigaDOS disks, but the files have
   been reorganized so that the icons are found and displayed quickly.
