This is the second time I`ve had to write this as `Intuitracker` decided to destroy my little Amiga`s mind during the first attempt. Ah well , here goes: This is just a quick roundup of the most impressive demos I`ve seen since last ish. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Guardian by The KEFRENS ======================= The first produxion I`ve seen from the `New` Kefrens team, and pretty kinky it is too. The demo`s content is actually rather mundane , comprising of the usual vectors, bobs etc. , but that said it is really polished , one very nice effect was a moving lightsource projected against a vector pyramid, very nicely done. The graphix are really good, and thankfully abundant. But it was the music by S.L.L. that stole the show for me. The in-demo tune is superbly boppy and suits the demo prefectly, and the end/credits tune is wonderfully wierd (Complete with baby-babble samples...) Like I said there`s nothing earth shatteringly new here, but what there is is done extremely well. Check it out. Code:(By Laxity) - 7 Graphix:(By ) - 8 Music:(By S.L.L.) - 9 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Despair by LSD. =============== This took first place at the `Digital` party in England last month, and rightly so methinks. I think that this demo definitely places LSD as one of the best UK groups. Again slightly lacking on the originality front , except for the use of a user-controllable lightsource projected onto a vector scroll, very nice guys. Also the use of an RGB `Cube within a cube` was quite kinky. The graphix were very good, the majority by one of my personal faves - Watchman. The music also lives up to the demo`s high standards, orchestrated by Echo, it`s very `Euroboppy` but is still excellent. One of the best demos I`ve seen in ages, the theme being not so much originality as variation. Code:(By Orchrist) - 8 Graphix:(By Various) - 8 Music:(By Echo) - 8 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Suffocation by ANDROMEDA. ========================= Quite a nice one , this. The most stunning aspect being the graphix, by a guy called `Quest` ("a tribe called quest"....nah.). THey are really superb The demo itself includes a nice multiple dot-flag routine and some nice translucent vector-work. But again, nothing earth shatteringly new. The music is also pretty good, but again suffers a little from `euroboppiness`. Code:(By Andy) - 7 Graphix:(By Quest) - 9 Music:(By Mr.Man)- 7 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Confuzed by MOTION. =================== At first glance this demo may seem a bit mundane, mainly due to it`s presentation but it`s worth waiting around for all of it. If vectors are your prference then this is definitely for you, it contains standard, stencilled and GNU vectors, at various points, they`re nicley done aswell. The coder also claims to have created a routine capable of displaying 10000 dots in realtime, but due to screen space only displays 1152, to be fair his routine also had enough time left to display a GNU vector simultaneously so I`d be inclined to believe him. THe graphix and music are competent but just didn`t have a strong impact. Code:(By Blazer) - 9 Graphix:(By Duel) - 7 Music:(By Madlock)- 7 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Defined Reality by SYMBIOSIS. ============================= Another `Nice` but un-original demo. Some nice RGB Plasma and vector routines though, Including a metamorphosising `GlenzVector` and a multicolour lightsourced standard vector. THe drawback being the use of the same old shapes, pyramids and cubes just don`t cut it anymore. But that said all other apects are well done. Code:(By Blacky) - 8 Graphix:(By Eloy/Elmer)-8 Music:(By ???) - 7 (Apologies to the musician of this piece but I couldn`t make out the name..) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- As I don`t trade anymore I can only give a review of anything I get off Green Beret, so If you want your demo to be in here then send it directly to me, all demos sent will be reviewed and reviewed honestly.
