MasterISO v2.1 Package - August 8th, 1998
=========================================

· Changed various text items inorder to bring them into conformance
with the capitalization rules.

· Fixed default tool for install disk icon.

· Implemented work-around for Kickstart v39; the labels for the CD-ROM
Information in the 'CD to CD-R/RW Copy' window would not appear.

· In the 'System Check - CD-R/RW drive project', the selected 'Write speed'
was being ignored. Behavior is now corrected to utilize the
indicated speed.

· Fixed track-length problem when trying to write a track from a source
that is less than the minimum track length.

· Minimum track length is changed to 4 seconds, in conformance with
the RedBook standard.

· Fixed problem when deleting a directory from the FileManager/CD-ROM
project; it may have resulted in a Guru upon saving the project
or incorrect values in the Validate File names window.

· Fixed problem when aborting the 'Add Files' process that may have
resulted in an improper file count.

· In the "Target Disc Size" section, changed the 18 minute disc to
a 21 minute disc.

· Fixed memory leak after generating an ISO volume with deep directories
and/or entries replaced with existing multisession entries.

CD-R/RW Engine v1.1
-------------------

· Added detection of the Philips 3610 ATAPI CD-R/RW drive. Firmware
level v2.x is recommended.

· Compensated for the Philips 3610/HP 7100 drives returning table of
contents data in non-BCD format.

· Fixed detection of CD-R capacity for Sony 92x drives when there is
a CD-ROM disc in the drive.

· Fixed handling of zero-length index #0's when writing in Disc-At-Once
mode with the TEAC, JVC and some Pinnacle drives. Revision 1.0G of
TEAC's firmware is recommended to accompany this fix.

· Improved handling of read and write speeds for the TEAC, JVC and
Pinnacle series of drives.

· Added detection for the Pinnacle RCD4X4 and RCD4X12 CD-R drives and
the Pinnacle RCDW226 CD-RW drive.

· Added detection of the Memorex CRW620 CD-RW drive.

· When automatically converting from mono to stereo via the Audio
Manager, automatic byte re-ordering was done on only half of the
sample rather than the full sample.

· Due to an interpretation problem with the ATAPI standard, some
CD-ROM manufacturers are incorrectly formatting table-of-contents
data. This may lead to MasterISO identifying tracks with negative
lengths and other undesirable qualities. MasterISO will now attempt
to detect this condition.

· Added detection of the Traxdata CDRW4260 Pro CD-RW drive.

· Sony SCSI CD-R drives require a minimum track length of 4 seconds.
MasterISO will now check for this condition prior to beginning the
write operation.

· Added support for the TEAC line of CD-ROM drives.

· Added detection of the JVC XR-W2001 and the XR-W2020 CD-R drives.

· When supplying a CDTV or CD32 trademark file, the accompanying
system identifier of "CDTV" was not automatically added, resulting
in an un-bootable disc. MasterISO will now automatically add this
identifier.

· Updated detection method used for JVC and TEAC drives when inquiring
about the capacity of the CD-R disc. Previous behavior may have
included reporting CD-ROM discs as containing writable capacity.

· Added support for the Mitsumi CR-2801TE CD-R drive.

· When doing a multiple copies of a disc, the engine will now check
to see if there is a blank CD-R disc present in the CD-R drive.
Previous action was to always ask first before checking.

· It is now possible to abort a procedure while the engine is checking
for a CD-ROM/R/RW disc. This usually happens during the "Examining
disc type" operation.

· Added support for the JVC XR-W2040 series of CD-RW drives.

· Updated multisession writing strategy for the TEAC series of CD-R
drives to fix problem with writing subsequent sessions on a multisession
disc. In conjunction with this fix, we recommend using firmware version
1.0J with the TEAC CD-R55 and version 1.0G with the TEAC CD-R50.

· Added support for the Nakamichi line (beginning with the MBR-7.4)
of CD-ROM changers.

· Added detection of the HP 7200 CD-RW Drive.

· Added support for data Disc-At-Once recording for the Philips CDD2600,
CDD2000 and the Ricoh 1420 CD-R drives.

· Added detection of the Traxdata series of CD-R/RW drives.

· Improved task-cleanup to avoid rare deadlock conditions upon cleanup.

· Added support for the Panasonic CW-7502 CD-R drive. Firmware version
of at least 4.10 is recommended.

· Added detection of the Smart and Friendly series of CD-R/RW drives.

· Implemented an 'approximate time remaining' display for CD-R/RW writing.

· Implemented a work-around for ATAPI-bus timeouts when doing
a full erase with the Yamaha 4001 CD-RW drive.

· Fixed handling of blank CD-R disc detection for the JVC 2001 and
2020 CD-R drives. Previous action prevented detection of CD-R discs.

· Added support for the Sony CDU948 CD-R drive.

· Forced CDDA extraction support for the Pioneer DR-A12X ATAPI CD-ROM
drive.

· Fixed handling of multisession file names: the Rock Ridge long
file names were not preserved during a multisession image build.

· Added detection of the Memorex CRW-1622 CD-RW drive.

· Fixed incorrect setting of 1x reading and writing speeds for SCSI 3
and ATAPI MMC CD-ROM and CD-R/RW drives.

· Added detection for the Yamaha CRW2216 and CRW4216 SCSI and ATAPI
CD-R/RW drives.

· After an error closing a track or disc, the engine may have
incorrectly reported back 'Operation was successful' to the user.
This condition is now fixed.

· Fixed a situation where the engine may have looped after
detecting a buffer underrun situation using the Yamaha 4260 series
of CD-R/RW drives.

· Compensated for Sony ATAPI CD-ROM drives returning table of
contents data in non-BCD format.

· Fixed situation in generating an ISO volume with deep directories
and/or entries replaced with existing multisession entries combined
with writing multiple copies on-the-fly or doing a simulated write
followed by a real write that may have resulted in items being
removed from the file list for the second and subsequent writes.
