Strike 10 (Ace) Babbling: After reading a feature article in Coinslot International making several references to the information and websites provided by Chris Smedley, Infocrew, Bandit King, and myself, it seems time to state a bit of legal spiel. If you don't want to break the law, the *only* information you should actually use are the button-pressing feature-taking nudge-shuffling jackpot-dropping tips. Any information in this digest or previous ones that involves turning the machine off, doing something to the cabinet (opening it), or 'clicking' the machine (buggering up the state of the machine by using spark-plugs, static guns etc.) It's not on, alright! Don't do it, it's *naughty*. Of course, if you happen to have your own machine, do what you like (you could get Big Buck$ and Monopoly 60 together for a grand...) Thanks are due, to the people who contribute. The names are there for all to see (and you know who you are :) To read up on what the industry thinks of this information, take a peek at Worlds Fair (only 75p). Or you could hang on to see if they put anything on their website at http://www.worldsfair.co.uk I won't be holding my breath though. Onwards... to the tips! (in no particular order) //-- Snakes & Ladders - Players Guide by Neil Drinkall ---------------------// mailto:104706.3255@compuserve.com Right, this machine is either a complete bastard or quite generous. When it is in a complete bastard mood, you will get bugger all out of it - maybe #1.20 from time to time, but nothing more than 3 quid for 10 or so put in. If it's in this mood - don't touch it. Go nowhere near it until someone else has put in about #30. It's pretty easy to tell if it's in a mood like this, the feature will become rarer (they are normally fairly common), and you will die early on on the feature board. Machine General Stuff: Getting onto the board - there is a trail 7 long, 1-6 and then Start. The bonus comes in on the middle reel, on a pair of grapes. There are a few standard things to get here: Scatter - a random stop feature. Using Cancel slows this down. Skill Shot - stop it on Start - use Cancel. Choose a Trail - stop it on Start. Goldenhold - A Superhold type feature. If you can't get a win or enough numbers for the feature, then stop the bonus again. Boost - duh! Add Again - as usual... Respin - respins all three reels. You can hold down the hold buttons and the reels don't spin. At least hold down the bonus reel every time. You have to be fairly quick. Spin A Win - very rare. Pretty obvious. Stoppa Nudge - flashes randomly over 1-4 nudges. No Cancel works here. Skill Nudge - goes fairly quickly from 1-4 nudges in order. Cancel does work here. If you have no wins or sufficient numbers on the winline, try and get a pair of cherries on the winline. This will often flash "Okey Dokey - Roll 'Em" and will then either spin in the numbers to get you on the board or spin in a three cherries for a #1 with a fairly easy gamble to enable you to exchange onto the board. The Board: A Snakes & Ladders style game, obviously :). There are 4 columns, one with nudges on it, one with wins, one alternating with crazy spins and the cashpot, and the last has features. There are a few Skill Stops, Question marks, Loses and Snake Bites. The question marks either give you an Antidote (immunity to Snake Bites and Loses), Cash Bonus (adds about #1 to the Cashpot). Skill Stop, Extra Dice (If you get a 2,5,7,9,11 then you get Big Money, the same as on Casino Crazy, but this has #10 and #4, and you occasionaly get #4, but of course there is a repeat chance. If you get all of these then lit then take it!). Snake bite, and Lose. If you get Lose on a question mark, you die regardless of whether you have an Antidote or not). Landing on a Snake Bite doesn't always kill you, you may get #1.20 or a Crazy Spin. The last is Run For It, which flashes randomly over the entire board. The features range from crap to very good: In (rough) order, they are: Cash Adder: gives you the option to go Up or Down. Check the dice (the 1-12 reel), as this is what it means by up or down. If it is on a 2, then go up, as it will go up to 12, if it is on an 11, go down, as it goes down to 1. What happens is it takes all the numbers, and adds one*20p to the cashpot for every number on the reel it comes accross. Not more than #2 to normally be had here. Reel Cobra: a Superhold type feature. Not normally worth stopping for, but it is worth checking the reels when you get on the board. The Rattler: Spins the middle reel *really* fast, and you stop it and it gives you the win it landed on. Not really worth taking as stopping it on the tenner is near impossible. N.B. - I may have got The Rattler and Reel Cobra the wrong way around, I haven't taken either for ages :)) SideWinder: runs a trail over the cashpot. Stop it when most of it is at the top, as this is where the #1's are rather than the 20p's. Possible to just about top #3 on this. Lucky Ladders: Flashes randomly up the Features, Crazy Spins/Cashpot, Wins and Nudges. You stop it, and get to choose which you prefer. Not really worth taking. Pyramid Puzzle: quite possible to get a tenner off of this. It involves stopping the flashing on the Arrows to move up a step. It is pretty obvious when you see it. I can't remember if the cancel button works on this. I don't normally take it, cos i screw it up and get 60p. A mate of mine gets a tenner almost every time. The bastard. :)) Hyper Vyper: The equivalent of Roulette Wheel on Casino Crazy. This is good. It either spins slowly or quickly. The jackpot is after the third set of melons. The best place to stop it is on the cherries before the first (maybe second) melons. This gives you exactly #10 before it comes to the jackpot, giving a possible #20. For those of you who haven't seen the roulette wheel, it lines up wins on the winline (not order to them), spins them until you stop it spinning, gives you that win, then a repeat chance. Snakes & Ladders: very cool. I've had over #30 from this a few times. Basically, it runs all over the board before giving you a Win, then gives you a repeat chance. You normally get loads of repeats. Thats about the lot, I think. Remember what I said - it's either a complete bastard, or well generous (at least, the one in my local is). On a couple of occasions I've taken it to auto-payout (#40+), it has not been touched for an hour or so, then someone has put in a couple of quid and taken out #20 or #30. It definatly pays out most of it's cash in one long go. As an interesting point, I was waiting to play it fairly soon after it had been installed, and this bloke was playing it. Every time I looked he had #25+ in the bank. He finally collected it (after collecting a few other fairly large sums) at other points and left the machine. I went over and put a quid in, and *instantly* was on the feature board. No spins, nothing?!?!??! This bloke came back and started going on like "I hadn't finished on the machine" blah blah, so a typical fruitie ettiquete(sp?) argument started. Looking back, I should've been nice to the bloke to find out how the fuck he left the machine so it went straight onto the feature from putting a quid in (it wasn't in the middle of a repeating win, either), and kept winning constantly all night. But then again he was a complete tosser. :)) //-- FastTrack (JPM) --// [Also from Neil (-:] Something for FastTrack: If you get the Keycode from the bonus, then hit the hold buttons in 2,3,1 order, as this gives you Hidden Features which it cycles thru 1,1,1 then 2,2,2 etc. Stop it on 1,1,1 which is a Jackpot repeater. I've had 3 repeats on this... If you get the Pang feature on the board (it goes up and down the nudges - you stop it on one and it moves the reels round that many times) then stop it on 6 as that is the jackpot. //-- Cluedo Super Sleuth (Maygay) --// From Andy Wallington mailto:andy@ewglos.demon.co.uk Here is a quick tip for Cluedo Super Sleuth - Maygay Rather than holding the Cluedo pieces to get onto the board try holding the bars until you get them in the following order : Reel 1 | Reel 2 | Reel 3 | Red (Size 3) Bar | Blue (Size 2) Bar | Yellow (Size 1) Bar | The machine will flash & play a tune. You now have a choice of three things...... Press the reel 1 hold button for a nudge up/down option on any symbols one away from the win line, therefore if you have a red seven below the line and two above you can nudge in a jackpot. Press the reel 2 hold button for a "Follow my leader" style game using the secret passage buttons on the board to get 5 quid. Press the reel 3 hold button for either Super or Normal ID parade depending on how generous it is being. This will usually equal 6/10 quid depending on Super or normal. Also don't forget if the Cash Pot on the right turns red keep going to a guaranteed Jackpot! //-- 321231 sighting --// mailto:D.M.Woods@bton.ac.uk I noticed this when i was playing the maygay 'Nudge Banker'. I was using the 123 code. A few spins after I had entered it, it gave me enough to nudge in 3 blue 7's, which gave me #4. The four pund light lit up on the board, and then it suddenly jumped to #8 without me doing anything. the only thing I noticed was that the middle hold button was flashing the way it does after the code has been entered. Maybe it is something more than a reset code, or maybe the software is shagged. I've never seen it happen anywhere else though. //-- insider information --// The article in Coinslot had some amusement in reading. To quote: "At the moment these information exchanges look reasonably harmless although, reading between the lines, one or two of the people appear to have limited access to inside information..." and, in the main text... "...we should always remember the possibilities of these guys discovering a real cheat... It is not beyond the realms of possibility for software engineers to insert their own unique codes that enable them access to winning combinations..." So far, I/we haven't found out any of these programmers codes. If anyone can remember back to The Sun's story a few years ago about a 67 button sequence to empty a machine, they may well understand why. (if anyone wants to correct me on that reference, go ahead) The industry has a veil of secrecy around it, and that's no surprUsingBut, I'm sure as time goes by the best tips will get better, and the feeling of knowing something *they* don't want you to know will increasin //-- Cash Bowl --// From Mark Glossop mailto: markg@gremnt1.gremlin.co.uk During any respin feature (including the one where you hold down the hold button when you have a skittle) HOLD IS AVAILABLE. The lights don't flash and you have to hold on to the buttons but it works. On this machine you can end up holding onto five buttons at once which often gets odd looks. There are additional 'win line' features it doesn't tell you about. 1-2-3, 2-3-4, 3-4-5, 4-5-6, 5-6-7, etc all take you to a hidden feature. The hold lights flash rapidly and you choose 1,2 or 3 for a random feature, cash prize or nudge. I have never seen these combinations 'drop-in' then again I have never seen a win 'drop-in' on this bandit. This feature is quite useful on SUPER HOLD which isn't always as generous as it could be. This tip maybe obvious, but I completely missed it when I first played it. When you win you choose which reel you want to gamble on. You can also choose a reel when you exchange which I completely missed. //-- Money Money Money (Maygay) -------------------------------------------// From Dave Balzan Below is a pretty full guide on this machine: Holds: Always hold a two or more. Don't hold a one as a better number should roll in. Always hold a cashpot symbol, esp if Cashpot >#10. If another symbol spins in then gives you holds, the third cashpot will always come in. Normal Bonus: Before you push start, hold down the centre 'bonus' reel as it will hold if you get respin. Use cancel for skillstop and stoppa. Skill Bonus: Can be selected by pressing and releasing cancel until 'skill stop' or 'stoppa' are lit. Can sometimes be good to take 'numbers in view' if you will get on the feature, nudges or money. Bar Code: Bar Code activates with a weird sound (normally after holds, esp if winline numbers will put you onto the features) Pushing the left hold will pick a payout, centre hold will pick a feature and right hold nudges. There is never any gamble or repeats on any of the wins. Hint: Take nudges rather than money, as after hi/lo gambles on the nudges, a new bonus number will spin in and allow you hi/lo gambles on the cash. Features: Cash Climb - Can be good, seen #10 often. However, mostly #2 - #5 wins. Hammering start works pretty well. Even Money - Pants feature. About #2 if you're lucky. Have seen about #9 when paying out. Red Hot Roll - Normally about #5, when the machine's paying out it's a guarenteed repeat jackpot. Reel Time - One of the worst features - usually #2 Twister - Can be good, normally about #4 but have had repeat jackpot. Lucky for Some - With Cancel always repeat jackpot, best feature. Heavens above - Maximum #4, good for small wins. Crazy Cash - brings in about #2.40 (wow!). Lucky Dip - Anything from #1 - #10 //-- END Money Money Money -----------------------------------------------// [Remember to check out previous fd's for more information on MMM] Feedback: [killing a myth )-:] 1) Third hold gives win everytime you've got 2 of a kind: No, not on some older Bell-Fruit, and most Ace machines. 2) Don't hold after nudge if you've got 2 on winline: No, not, again, on certain Bell-Fruit and Ace machines, and also some newer style BWB machines prompt you to actually hold the reels after a nudge. //-- Theme Park (Project) --// From Adey mailto:adey@globalnet.co.uk The Balloon symbol will give you a hidden feature depending what combination you tap the >Hold< buttons in... So far I've got: 321 - 27 Way Win (Respin the reels and gives 27 way wins, surprUsingly) 231 - Wild Sevens (Respins in 3 7's - usually for a fiver or a tenner) 213 - Choose a Win And I think 123 is a Superhold. Possible You can also use these combinations on the feature if it flashes the hold buttons briefly when you land on a "Ticket to Ride" symbol. It tends to give these more often than you'd expect, especially when it's ready to payout - well worth going for these rather than the Jackpot repeat. On nudge/holds, the best bet is to gamble the win once then press Exchange. If the BANK IT button is lit, press it and off you go. If not, just collect the win. 9 times out of ten it will just blow you out. Always collect the Bumper Cars feature! And always go for Trash'n'Smash - it seems like a random Skill Stop at first but there is a pattern to it. You should always end up with 10 quid after a bit of practice. On the same machine, I would appreciate any info on why when going for HI/LO gambles on straight wins do some of the reels flash sometimes. Usually two reels are flashing and one not. Why? There doesn't seem to be a connection between the flashing reels and the next number up... or am I missing something. [if you know the answer, please mail me as well as Adey] //-- Cash Bowl (Ace) --// From: PR O'Grama [you might want to try this on Nudge Explosion too...] When you cannot get any win from nudges, check for reel overlays (the numbers) which are in successive order i.e.: 1-2-3 or 2-3-4. When this happens the machine lets you know that a cheat has occurred, and flashes the hold buttons. Press the left button for a 'random' feature, middle button for cash, or right button for nudges. //-- Solenoid Test (Ace?) --// [editted to avoid inciting people (sp?)] Try this on your own machine... Get your hands on a Refill key, (not that difficult - Lowe & Fletcher key 87000) prize the back door open just enough to cause the machine to reset. You should be able to do this quite easily, as long as you do it SLOWLY. This will put the machine into engineering mode. You can then play the machine as normal (no point really), or alternatively, bring in the jackpot by holding down cancel and nudging it in (that's one of the fun things to do in engineering mode). Take your finger of cancel, hold all 3 reels, and press Start!gBuild up the bank to $30/$40 and then play off the rest of the credits, making sure that you do not get the auto collect option by getting wins. When it asks you if you want to collect, do so as normal, but the machine will bleep instead of the solenoid firing (cos it's in E-mode) Turn the refill key at this point and the machine will pay out as normal.
