Check your Amiga documentation for activating one of these through the SetMap icon in the Systems drawer. Hard disk users will want to make sure they have the iff.library in their libs directory and the correct printer driver in their devs/printers directory. You can transfer either of these files from the NORPROG disk. The User Manual should have a warning, probably under MORE SPACE on page 36, against attempting to add space to a variable-length field when the last line is not visible on the screen. The display becomes confused if the end of the field is not in view. --- Version 2.06 Changes --- 1. The example contained on page 17 of the User Manual under "Searching for Records" did not find any records in the sample data-base. The same program error was responsible for no finds for Search Request 5, stored on the famtree_srch file. 2. Using non-existent parameters on the Decision screen for the Family report caused the program to get confused and possibly abort or affect some other activity with a delayed reaction. 3. Under some circumstances the Decision screen for Edit A Record had the "famtree_srch" text displayed rather than simply "famtree". 4. When transferring children of the previous generation to be siblings of the current generation () an empty field set was displayed for the youngest child's record. (Correcting this error introduced a new problem -- see point 1 for Version 2.08 below.) --- Version 2.07 Changes --- 1. Changes to the Search logic to allow ORed searches for one character fields. 2. Introduced the code for the Import utility program. 3. Changed the read and write programs to reset the database if the disk positioning was not properly completed. These changes should result in more efficient use of the Remake File and Validity Check utilities. --- Version 2.08 Changes --- 1. As a result of improper correction of point 4 of Version 2.06 above, the repeating fields Sibling, spouse field sets, Child, and Notes had SCREEN displays (in Edit and Display modes) with only the first field shown if, and only if, you had previously displayed certain of the reports: Family and Subjects by Record ID, for example. 2. The Common Ancestor option of the Descendants report did not work under some circumstances. 3. The screen now beeps AND flashes whenever only a beep occured before. --- Version 2.09 Changes --- 1. User-defined fields "Seal Wife to Husband" data for LDS compatabililty have been added. They are records number 68 and 69 and should be added to the description for Records Number 57-62 on page 51 of the User Manual. Also, on page 52, add the following to the left-hand portion of the list: RID Row Col 68 22 1 69 22 35 2. Function Key 9 is now active to define and integrate Macros into the Subject records -- only during Data Entry and Edit modes and only for the variable-length fields. You can enter up to seven text or name fragments that you expect to use a number of times. Here are the rules governing definition, editing and use: Display or Edit Macro List: The first time you use this key combination a new file, "macro", is created on the NORDATA volume and the list of seven empty macros is displayed on a new window. Any or all of these can be expanded to a maximum of 120 characters by using More Space. The usual editing keys can be used but only the , , and function keys are active. Exit from Display or Edit Macro List: Save Macro List: When you want to save the changes you have made, exit by repeating this key combination. No Save: To ignore changes or revert to the previous status of the macro list. In either case you will return to where you were previously. Use of Macros: If you print the Macro List with then you have a reference when ready to apply the text saved above. Move the cursor to the appropriate field. If in Edit mode you will need to open the field before moving the cursor to the add or insert point. When you press and release the program will wait until you have pressed the Macro Number you want. Then the correspond- ing text is inserted at the cursor position, expanding the field if necessary.
