If you produce Video titles or any type of Video Text generation then you need SHADOW! Are you forever creating Video shadows for your letters in DPAINT(tm)? Disappointed in the lack of Text handling features of the current Multimedia/Authoring packages on the market? ******************************************************************** ***INSTALLING SHADOW*** To copy SHADOW onto your Workbench Disk, Hard Disk or wherever, simply DRAG the SHADOW Icon over to the appropriate Window. There are no support files to copy other than the main program file SHADOW. To START SHADOW simply click on the ICON or open a CLI Window and type SHADOW. You must be logged onto the directory where SHADOW currently resides if you go VIA the CLI. Immediately after you click on the ICON the screen will FLASH a rainbow of COLORS for a second. This shows you that SHADOW has successfully loaded. You may now run any of your graphic programs as before, but now they will print their text with a built in Drop shadow! To END SHADOW and return to normal, click again on the SHADOW icon. This time the screen will NOT flash through a rainbow of colors. You can START/STOP SHADOW as many times as you wish, even from within another program. Just pull down the screen, or use the RIGHT AMIGA M to jump back to the Workbench screen. SHADOW is a small patch to the Operating System. Any Font equal to and greater than 24(>=) will have a Drop shadow automatically generated as it is printed. The depth of the Drop shadow is equal to 20% of the Fonts height. Color 1 of the palette is used as the background Shadow. Color 0 is left alone on the assumption that you may/will be using a Genlock. Whatever the current Foreground/APen color is will be mapped to the characters FACE. An example palette for DPaint would be Color 0 :GREY(Background) Color 1 :BLACK(Shadow) Color 2 :WHITE(letter Face) To turn OFF the automatic Drop shadow, press the MINUS(-) key on the seperate numeric keypad(right hand side). To turn ON the automatic Drop shadow, press the PLUS(+) key on the seperate numeric keypad(right hand side). These 2 keys WILL NOT PRINT any characters. Their substitutes can of course be found at the top of the keyboard proper. **BUGS** I'm sure something will rear its head soon! SHADOW is intended to overcome some of the shortcomings of SHADOWMAKER in its handling of text to be generated in non-paint programs.
