Addendum to PSFont
w/ Bonus: WStrip

BEFORE  STARTING!  IF executing from floppy, the "PSFontAssign" icon should
    be double-clicked. Permanent installation on hard drive is recommended.


Things you should know about the TASS version:

    TASS requires ARexx to operate.  When ARexx is installed a simple
    double-click  on  the  "startup" icon in the TASS directory on this
    disk   will  setup  TASS  for  you.   After  startup  is  executed,
    double-click  on  the  PSFont or WStrip icon in the TASS directory.
    And the corresponding TASS screen will appear.

    On the right side there is a box with a scroller gadget on the 
    side.  This box displays the fontlists you have defined. To select
    a listfile click it.

    In the center column there are these commands:

    Install   - A  custom  Dirtool  pops-up  that  allows you to select
                multiple files, this option is very similar to the 
                PSInstall command in the Workbench section of the
                  manual.

    Delete    - This option deletes the listfile that is currently
                selected in the fontlist window.

    Download  - This option downloads the listfile you have selected
                in the fontlist window. If you have selected a output file
                instead  of serial or parallel this option will download to
                that file.

    Directory - Clicking on this box sends a command to the printer or 
                output file to output a directory of the fonts currently
                on your printer.

    Reset     - THIS WILL RESET YOUR PRINTER (* CAUTION *).
                Losing all DOWLOADED fonts.    

    Quit      - This option quits out of the program.

    Underneath the fontlist window there are three buttons:

    Parallel  - Sets  the  output  setting  to which the listfiles are
                downloaded to PARALLEL.

    Serial    - This sets the output setting to SERIAL.

    Disk      - This sets the output to DISK. 

    In  the  top  right  corner  of the tass screen, there is a gadget that
    flips the tass screen to the background.
    This is INVISIBLE click for it!

    WStrip TASS version:

    The  TASS  version  of  WStrip looks similar to the TASS version of
    PSFont.

    In the middle column there are the following commands:

    Filter  Dots  - This  switch  toggles  between  not  filtering Dot
                    commands and filtering them.
    

    Filter Colons - This  switch toggles between not filtering Colon
                    commands and filtering them.

    Strip         - This  switch  toggles between not stripping,
                    stripping WP(tm), stripping WS(tm), format codes.

    Change <.ext> - This  option gives you a requestor where you can
                    type  in  what  you  want  the  extension  on  your
                    processed files to be.

    PROCESS          - This option runs the WStrip program on all selected 
                    files using current settings.        

    Quit          - This quits out of the program.


    Below  the  SelectedFiles  window  there  is another window labeled
    CurrentSettings.

    The  first  three  lines  of  the CurrentSettings window shows what
    you want WStrip to do to your input file.

    The  fourth  line  of  the  CurrentSettings  window is your current
    extension.  The current extension is with what extension WStrip will
    output  your  file.   The  extension  command  is documented in our
    WStrip manual.

Changes in PSFont since our manuals were printed:

    In  the  workbench  version  of PSInstall there is a "Make Output File"
button  at  the  top  of  the  screen,  selecting  (turns  black with white
lettering)  this  option  tells PSInstall to make a file that is PostScript
and can be directly downloaded to the printer.





Errors in our manuals include:

In the PSFont manual:

    On the 6th page (with "Other Workbench Options" at top)

    Under the heading "What's in the List File?"

    It didn't turn out as clear as we meant it, we think inserting
    a comma on the first line after the "creates" would make things
    a bit clearer. That first line means that "When you run the
    PSInstall  program,  it  creates a list file, and in this list file
    there  is  a  list  of  files  (simply  contains a sequence of file
    names)."

In the WStrip manual:

    On the inside, rightmost page

    Under the heading "Extension"

    Second example should read:

        EXTENSION = .usefull

        (NOT) 

        EXTENSION = .usefult

That is about all for now.

Note:     We mentioned there are two ways of getting the MS-DOS files
        copied over to AmigaDOS format diskettes.  As of today we are aware
        of one more method of transfering the files, that is using
        Cross-Dos(tm)  by  Consultron. A "tryware" version is available
        on Fred Fish disk #240.
