EASY ARC I. Requirements One Meg The Following Files located in C:directory of boot disk Assign Copy Delete Failat Endcli Ask Endcli NewCli Run Execute To Utilize all functions of program System Drawer (boot disk) Format DiskCopy C: drawer (boot disk) Arc Lharc Zoo Pak LHwarp Warp II. The Programs EasyArc4 and EasyArc16 are functionally identical, but different in appearance. EasyArc4 is a 4 color workbench version of the program that runs and loads fast. EasyArc16 is a 16color hi-res version that uses brushes for buttons and IFF pictures for backgrounds. Also has BrushAnims and Sound. It is slower running and loading, but is much prettier to look at. It shows some of the power of CANDO. Once The Screens are loaded , Disk acces will be mimimal for display screens. In both programs all buttons are outlined and all text is in italics. In the 16 color version some buttons are brushes. All buttons are single Click. II. Action Files Document - contains a list of files to be acted on. To Remove a file from this document. Double click the name. B. Volumes/Directories - contains a list of available disk volumes or directories. Double click the line to see the available files. C. Files Document - contains a list of files in the current directory. To move a file from here to the Action Files Doc, double click it. III. The Main Screen. (buttons) A. ARC - moves to file select screen B. LHARC - "" C. ZOO - "" D. PAK - "" E. WARP - "" F. LHWARP - moves to LHWARP screen G. WARP - moves to WARP screen H. TEXT - moves to TEXT screen I. EXTRACT - moves to file select screen J. SLEEP - Iconifies the Screen (small button in corner of 4 color) K. HELP - moves to TEXT screen and displays this file L. QUIT - Quits the program M. DOS - Moves to Dos Screen (multifunction window) IV. File Select Screen A. Path Field - displays the current directory. You may type in this field and hit return if you dont wan't to use the documents. B. Destination Field - The destination path of the Archive or Extract Command. C. Command Field - The default command for the action you selected. D. Go Button or Green Light - executes the command in the command field. E. Exit Button or Red Light - returns to Main Screen. F. Dos Button - exits to Dos Screen G. Info Button - Available Mem and Disk Info of Current Directory H. NewCli - Opens a newshell or newcli I. Disk Button - Displays the available volumes J. Parent Button - Moves Current Directory up one in Path K. Pattern - If creating an archive, lets you enter a pattern to move to the action box. No wildcards. If you want all .info, enter .inf or .in or .info in the field provided. L. All - If archiving , moves all the files in the Files Document to The Action Document. M. Clear Button - Clears the Action Document N. ^ Button - moves the Cursor to First Line O. ! Button - moves Cursor to Last Line. To CREATE a new archive or add files to existing archives, Double Click the line in the Files document and move it to the Action Document. Double Click as many as you want. When satisfied. Click The Go Button. To LIST or EXTRACT an Archive double click the file you want in the files document to move it to the Action Document. If you select more than one the first one will be replaced by the new one. You can only List or Extract one file at a time. If NoWay !!! appears in the Command field, then that file cannot be listed or extracted. If you get an error "Command Line Too Long" when creating an archive, read the highest arcrunner.num and remove files from the Action Document. Your command line can only be 3 lines long. Then repeat the process with the files you removed and add them to the archive. You may also use the Command field to Test or Print archives by typing in the command you wish. You may also want to use the -x0 or -x option in LHARC. If so type it in. Update or freshen may not work here. V. Warp Screen Select either GO to Warp or Exit to Abort. If Warping enter the Destination Directory and File Name Where you want the warped file Stored. VI. LHWARP Screen A. Use the < and > buttons to select the Starting and Ending Tracks or Click on the number and type it in. B. Click the Drive Button to Cycle between DF0-DF3: C. Click The Option Button you want -M,-C,ect. to set the option in the option in the option field. Or you may type in the option or options you desire. D. The Default Option is Freeze Mode which is no option selected or a blank option field. E. If LHWARP set the Destination Directory and File Name where you want the archive stored. F. Select GO or the Green Light to LHWARP or select EXIT or the Red Light to Abort. VII. The Text Screen A. > Button - only used when entered from DOS Screen. Displays the next document from the Action Document B. < Button - only used when entered from DOS Screen. Displays the previous document from the Action Document C. CLR - Clears the Document D. Execute - executes Valid Dos Commands. Example ---- If you type Info Dir df0: Assign These three commands will be executed in a CLI Window. You can also load executable Files and execute them from here. E. LOAD - brings up a file requestor to load a new text file. F. TOP - Moves cursor to Start of Document G. END - Moves cursor to End of Document H. Search Field - type in the string you want located. Does a nocase search for this word after you hit return from current cursor position. I. NEXT - searches for next word in Search Field. J. SAVE - saves the document K. PRINT - prints the document VIII. Sleep Window Blatantly Ripped Off from the Cando Extras Disk. Displays the Time and Memory. Click the window Close Button to return to the screen from where you came from. IX. DOS Screen (Multi Function Window.) Move Files as described in the File Select Screen.Some Buttons are the Same as the File Select Screen. Other Buttons are in two separate Categories. All Files and Only Applicable. The All Files Buttons means that all files in the Action Window are acted upon. The Only Applicable means that only the Files in the Action Window which are Applicable will be acted up. A. Only Applicable Buttons. Select as many files as you want to the Action Doc. They do not have to be applicable to what you want to do. In other words, if you have 10 picture files and 7 text files in the Action Document and select Show Picture only the Picture Files will be Acted On. Before you click a button, move the cursor to the line where you want the Action to begin. 1. Show Picture - Will Show all picture files in the Action Window 2. Hear Sound - Will Play all sound files in the Action Window 3. Slide Show - Will Show all picture files in the Action Window. The length is time in seconds as displayed in the field provided. The default is 5. 4. Run Program - Runs the program highlighted in the Action Window. 5. Reader or Read Text - Diplays the Text files in the Text Screen. Use the < and > buttons on the Text Screen. B. All Files Buttons 1. Delete - Deletes All Files in the Action Window 2. Copy - Copys All Files in the Action Window to the Directory you provide. 3. Copy Dir - Copys the directory displayed in the Current Directory field to the Path you provide. * Note * This will not create the new directory. However it does copy all the files and subdirectories. It will create the sub - directories. 4. Delete Dir - Deletes the Current Directory and all Subdirectories C. Other Buttons 1. Diskcopy 0 > 1 2. Diskcopy 1 > 0 3. Format - exits to Format Screen 4. Sort Button - Sorts the files in Action Box as they are moved from the file box 5. NoSort - moves the cursor below the last line in the Action Document. Move the Cursor where you want the next file inserted. 6. All Other Buttons were described in the File Select Screen Text. X. Format Screen A. Drive Button - Select either Df0: or Df1: B. Quick - Quick format a previously formatted disk. C. Icons - Icons puts a trashcan on your disk. Noicons does not. D. Name Field - Enter the Name of the Disk you wish to format E. Select either Go to format or Exit to abort. XI. Slide Show Screen You cannot exit from this screen until all pictures from the Action Doc have been shown. When the Last one is shown. Click in the upper left hand corner of screen.
