This utility will solve ALL problems with the daily /Xnet transfers. It will totally control your nettransfers, so this scripts will not look so unproffesional for AmiExpress. Requirements ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The minimum requirements for running this Utility is a full installed AmiExpress v3.20+ and a fully installed /Xnet v5.1+ version. If you are not a proud owner of this two things or if you are not registered now for /Xnet5.1 this utility will be totally useless for you, because many things changed in the release of /Xnet v5.1+ Additional Requirements: ----------------------- AmiExpress v3.20+ -> Acp Server v3.20+ -> NetPack v5.1+ -> NetMerge v6.2+ -> MRUpdate v1.8+ -> if you don`t own one of this MSGReceipts v1.1+ -> Utilities with the correct TERM v2.9+ -> version number or higher then TaskTime v1.1+ -> this utility will not work 100% DisplayRoute v1.2+ -> get all Utilities before using it. Original WB Commandos needed: ---------------------------- C:run C:dir C:delete C:copy C:Type Functions ~~~~~~~~~ The functions for this utility are very simple. First of all you have 2 different functions which this utility works on. You can start this utility so that it will call out for you every day at a specified time and will transfer all mails automatically. And the second function is the MANUAL function. This one is for people which don`t want to let the computer call out because of high phonebills. So you can transfer mails when ever you want by hand and then this utility will convert all mails automatically into your messagesbases. Configuration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The configuration of this utility is very very easy. You just have to insert the following syntax in your CLI: 1> NetControl.exe CONFIG Then this utility will prompt you for inserting some informations about your configurated Express and /Xnet. Answer this question correctly step by step and you will get no problem with the later automatically running of this program. You will also be prompted for inserting information of the NETIDs you want to call. If you are prompted for the phonenumber just insert the whole number with the land & countrycode. The other things in the configuration are very easy to manage. Automatical CALLING: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you want the NetControl automatically transfer netmails every day ,you just have to start the NetControl once at your startup-sequence to be sure it`s 100% running if your system crashs or you make a reset. Goto your favourite Texteditor and insert the following into your own startup-sequence: ------ cut here ------- UTILS:NetControl.exe START ------ cut here ------- This will initate the Tasktime at every RESET. In this example here it`s important to have the "NetControl.exe" program located in the UTILS: directory. From now on NetControl will suspend your choosen /Xnode at your favourite time you inserted in the configuration. Then it will pack all needed netmails to transfer and call all HostIds you inserted in the CONFIG. After the transfer it will decrunch(merge) all downloaded netmails from your HOST and will automatically post it in the different Conferences. This procedure will be started again every day at the same time you choose in the Config. Manual Transfers: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This function was included because if you call out a HOST BBS which is far away from you which will result high phonebills. To use this function you have to do the following step by step. 1. Exit the /X Node you want to call out 2. Take a Shell and start the NetControl program as follows: 1> NetControl.exe LOCAL 3. Wait until NetControl will prompt you for transfering /XNetMails. 4. Start now your favourite Terminalprogram. 5. Call your HOST BBS you want to transfer mail. 6. Wait until the prompt "ANSI Graphics (Y/n)?" 7. Insert now "!--NET--!" or "@--NET--@" and press return 8. Now you will be prompted to insert your NETID. 9. Follow this prompt and insert your own NETID with the "@". 10.Now you will prompted to insert your own NetPassword you choose for this HOST BBS. 11.Insert this password and wait until you will be prompted to press return to receive the newest netmail. 12.Receive your mail and then you will be prompted if you have netmail to transfer or not. 13.Transfer now all NetMailFiles NetControl will list you. 14.If you are ready with uploading all Netmails just go back in the Shell where NetControl was started and press return for telling NetControl that you are ready with all Transfers. From now on NetControl will do all work alone and will post all netmessages in it`s conferences. If you have a second or more HOST BBS`s Netcontrol will go to the next HOST BBS and will start at step 3 again. Single-Host BBS calling ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another included function is the Single BBS Calling. With this function you can choose one HOST BBS you want to call automatical. This is usefull if this BBS was busy at the specified time you called it autmatically. To use this function you just have to open a shell and then insert the following commands while /X is Awaiting Connect on that Node you choose at the NetControl Config. 1> NetControl.exe You have to insert the whole netid with "@" instead of . Then /X will start suspending and call this BBS automatically. TagLine Stripper ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Of the Request from Crackdown i added this TagLine Stripper in NetControl. You can activate this TagLine Stripper by activating it in the Config. The function will be really clear. It will scan all received Netmails you downloaded from your HOST BBS before merging it to the conferences. TagLine Counter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This new feature was added by me because i thought of a way to use that useless "tagline.map" file in the MAPS directory. You can activate that feature by activating it in the CONFIG. This function will scan your Netmails for Taglines and search for it in the tagline.map file, if it can`t find that tagline it will add it to the tagline.map file, so that you will have everytime a actual tagline.map file with all newest NetBBS`s you have contact too. Help-Screen ~~~~~~~~~~~ To Open a help screen you have to start NetControl like this: 1> NetControl.exe ? Changes to v1.01 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the v1.00 Release i found some bugs in the Manual Transfer Routine and so i have to release v1.01 were all bugs are removed and some cosmetic changes was made to the Manual Transfer. Now the Utility shows you the Password, your NetID and wheter you have to transfer mail or not. Hope you like that little improvements. Changes to v1.02 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the v1.01 release i found some major bugs in the manual transfer again. I removed that bugs now and all should work fine. Changes to v1.04 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And again fixed some bugs in the Utility and added some cosmentic changes and converted the code to the new /X v3.20+ standard /Xnet. A Major Bug was removed which don`t transfer ALL Needed Netmails for Uploading to the HOST BBS. NEED A NEW CONFIG !!! Changes to v1.05 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fixed several Bugs and included the new "AUTOUPDATE" in the MRUpdate execution, that will fix problems with the BBS:AMIXNET//.bin files some people don`t know. But make sure to start MRUpdate one time with the AUTOUPDATE option on. Changes to v1.05 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Added two new Features to NetControl, the TagLine Stripper & Counter. History & Greetings ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a history i just want to say that the idea of this utility was born on the nerving SCRIPTS released with the /Xnet.
