InterTalk V1.00 Last Updates ============================ THIS FILE CONTAINS SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION, THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT INTO THE MANUAL. READ IT CAREFULLY! Extra gadget in the gadget row ------------------------------ An extra gadget has been added in the gadget row. It is the scissor icon, that will cut the contents of the scrollback buffer to the clipboard. This can be pasted into InterWord with it's paste function (the spray icon). It is the same function of the "Cut to Clipboard" item in the "Edit" menu. The scrollback buffer will be flushed and is empty afterwards. The scrollback buffer --------------------- The scrollback buffer is currently fixed with a size of 8 kbytes (8192 bytes). It will be adjustable in the next release of InterTalk. You can leave the scrollback buffer by hitting the key any time instead of using the CLOSEWINDOW gadget. The phonebook ------------- The entries in the phonebook can be selected with the keyboard. 'A' will select all entries, 'C' will clear all entries and hitting the SPACE bar will toggle all entries. Furthermore, hitting 'D' will begin dialing (like clicking the "Dial" gadget) and key will leave the phonebook (like clicking on the "Cancel" or CLOSEWINDOW gadget). There is prepared one entry in the phonebook, that you may use as a starting point, if you are new to the BBS world. It is a BBS in Denmark, however, so if you wish to make use of it from abroad, add you country's international dialing prefix plus Denmark's country code (45) in front of the telephone number. For instance, in the United states, this would end up 0045. This prepared phonebook entry is also the BBS where you can get support for InterTalk directly from the authors. Zmodem auto-download ------------------- An option for Zmodem auto-challenge download ("Auto-dwl") has been added in the "File Transfer" menu under "Zmodem options". This toggles auto-download on and off. When the other end initiates a Zmodem transfer for sending a file to you, InterTalk will begin receiving automatically. VT-100 compatibility -------------------- The IBM/PC ANSI.SYS driver is not truly ANSI/VT-100 compatible. Should you experience problems with a mangled or in any way disturbed display when working with a BBS, chose Emulation/IBM-ANSI in the "Terminal" menu. To get back to true ANSI/VT-100, chose Emulation/ANSI in the same menu. For techies: the ANSI/VT-100 sequence [2J should clear the screen, while maintaining current cursor position. The IBM ANSI bug, however, will move the cursor to the upper leftmost position (0,0) and thereby assumes, that it has a nice, clean display, which, in many cases, it hasn't. TrapList nodelist support ------------------------- If you have TrapList from TrapDoor Development (Maximillian Hantsch & Martin J. Laubach) set up for use, you can take advantage of the phonenumber lookup utility of this, just by telling InterTalk where you have your nodelists (enter directory, e.g. 'NODELIST:', in the "Edit" menu by choosing "Nodelist") and then use the node number for the BBS, you wish to dial, instead of entering phonenumbers. This also has the advantage of keeping up-to-date with the telephone numbers just by diff'ing old nodelists with new diff-files. And all the other things ------------------------ There is probably a lot of questions, that remains unanswered. To get any kind of help on a subject, registered users are welcome to call Interactivision on 86-802700 (Denmark) and talk to Claus Baekgaard. If you wish to get electronic help, call one of the prepared phonebook entries and leave a note for the sysop, (Jesper Kehlet on Coffeeville or Per Hansen on Saga), or chat him, if he is available. We are the authors of this package and will be glad to help you.
