                        Termite V1.00
                  (c) 1994 Oregon Research
                    Release Date 11/16/94

Thank you for purchasing Termite. Please take the time to read the
information in this file. It contains important information
inadvertantly omitted from or added after the manual was printed.
To get the most out of Termite, it is very important you read the
entire manual. Remember to send in your registration card.
Registration is required to receive technical support and is also
very important so that we may notify you of enhancements to Termite.

asl Library version
-------------------
If Termite says you need asl.library V38, it can be found on the
Termite master disk in the "libs" directory. Just copy or drag
the file from there to your Workbench "libs" directory.

New Button Bar Functions
------------------------
Two new functions have been added to the Button Bar. The first one:
Upload From List will begin a multiple file transfer of files
currently in the upload list. The second one: Dial will dial a
Phone Book entry specified in the option field. The place the name
of the system you want to dial in the option field exactly as it
appears in the phonebook. When selected the system will be called
through the dialer just as if you have dialed it through the phonebook.

amigaguide.library
------------------
The amigaguide.library is also available in the "libs" directrory
of the master disk, should you need it. It is archived in LHA format.
If you do not have access to a LHA dearchiver, they are widely available
for downloading. If you cannot locate one, please notify us and we
will be happy to send you an uncompressed version.

Terminal Settings Change
------------------------
The terminal settings requester has changed slightly from what appaers
in the manual. Now, to select an XEM library, click on the "Emulation"
button so that it changes from "ANSI" to "External", and a file
requester will appear at that time. The box underneath that button
will tell you which terminal emulation you have currently selected.

Rexx Note
---------
sys:rexxc/rx is no longer required to run ARexx scripts from within
Termite.

Zmodem Frame Size
-----------------
If you get a lot of "Resending from...." errors when doing a ZMODEM
upload, go to Transfer Settings, click on "XPR Settings" and edit
the "Frame Size" value. Try setting it to "8192" and if you still
get "resending" errors, lower it until they stop. However, if you
get no errors with 8192, you can increase it to boost performance.

Phonebook shortcuts
-------------------
In the phonebook or phonebook editor, you can hit the tab key, and
the currently highlighted system or line will be updated to reflect
all of your current settings.

Serial Settings Changes
-----------------------
The serial settings "Shared", "Quiet", and "High Speed Device" were
apparently omitted from the documentation, and are now included in
termite.guide. "Shared" makes Termite share the serial device with
other programs that ask to use it. "Quiet" causes Termite to not
open the serial device at all. "High Speed Device" bypasses error
checking in the serial device for the sake of speed. Be sure to read
the full explanations and cautionary notes in the help file before
using any of these options.

Auto Load macros
----------------
Termite will attempt to load a macro file called "termite.macros"
upon program startup. If it is present, it will be loaded as the
default macro set. This is not mentioned in the manual.

Script Recording change
-----------------------
There are now two menu options for recording scripts, where only
one is mentioned in the manual. "Record Logon Script..." is identical
to "Record..." in the manual. "Record Script...", on the other hand,
should be used if you are recording a script that you intend to run
at any time other than at logon.

RIP XEM available on request
----------------------------
RIP graphical emulation is available in the form of an XEM library.
If you would like a copy of this public domain library, write or call
us and we will send it to you.
